A horde of Jewish settlers on Monday set fire to cultivated lands in the villages of Beitin and Burqa, east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
The arson attack led to the destruction of about 30 olive and fig trees and grapevines as well as other crops in the villages.
According to local sources, a number of local residents were able to rush to the burning area and embarked on extinguishing the flames until civil defense crews arrived and controlled the fires.
The targeted lands are located near the illegal settlement of Givat Assaf, and the Israeli occupation army prevents local farmers from going to their lands there without prior coordination.

Dozens of fires break out over the weekend in Israeli communities bordering the Hamas-controlled enclave amid reports of Qatari envoy entering Gaza to deliver some $25 million in aid
The incendiary balloon terrorism from the Gaza Strip shows no signs of slowing down despite the Qatari aid being transferred to the enclave, with dozens of fires being started in the nearby Israeli communities over the weekend.
Qatari envoy to Gaza Muhammad al-Emadi was to enter the Hamas-controlled enclave sometime on Sunday to deliver $25 million in aid to the officials in the Strip, said Palestinian sources. The transfer of the funds is apparently one of the key demands put forward by the terror group in order for the quiet along the border to be maintained.
At least three fires were started on Sunday in the Eshkol and Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Councils. All the fires had been extinguished and no injuries were reported. The same two communities were subjected to incendiary balloons attacks on Friday as well with at least seven fires breaking out there.
In addition, on Thursday an explosive device attached to a balloon was found in Kibbutz Ruhama near the southern city of Sderot and a fire broke out in Simhoni Forest near Kfar Aza.
Over the course of Wednesday and Tuesday more than a dozen blazes broke out in the communities bordering Gaza as a result of incendiaries being launched into Israel by Palestinian factions in the Strip.
Last week it was reported terror groups in Gaza appear to have found a new method of launching incendiary balloons in order to ignite as many fires as possible on Israeli territory, thereby maximizing the damage.
The latest upgrade in what has become an entire arsenal of terror tools for the Palestinian factions in Gaza is to soak a slow-burning fuse in explosive liquids and attach it to an incendiary balloon. The balloon drips fireballs as it flies, creating several ignition points from just one device.

For the third consecutive day, illegal Israeli colonialist settlers burnt more than 100 olive trees, owned by a Palestinian family in al- Mughayyir Palestinian village, northeast of Ramallah in central West Bank.
The colonists invaded large areas of farmlands and orchards, and burnt more than 100 trees, owned by members of the Na’san family, the Palestinian TV has reported.
The family said they planted the trees on their own lands more than ten years ago, and has been since then tending to their orchards and fields despite the Israeli restrictions and constant violations, especially since they are in Area C of the occupied West Bank, under full Israeli control.
Palestinian firefighters tried to reach the lands, but the Israeli military restrictions prevented them from performing their duties.
Many villagers rushed to the lands to help the family, and managed to extinguish the fire using branches and sticks, preventing it from spreading to more lands, including wheat fields.
The Palestinian farmers in the area told Palestine TV that they would never abandon their lands and orchards, despite the constant Israeli attacks, including burning the lands and uprooting the trees.

Blaze that began at restaurant in nearby food court triggers emergency procedures at threater in Ayalon Mall in Ramat Gan; evacuee recalls 'thick black smoke everywhere'
A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon near the Shipudei Hatikva meat restaurant in Ayalon Mall in Ramat Gan, on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. Movie-goers at the adjacent cinema inside the mall were evacuated as thick smoke filled the site, and a short time later the fire was extinguished.
The area in which the fire broke out was also evacuated, leading to an altercation with a man who refused to leave and who attacked a policeman during the ensuing row. The policeman was hospitalized with minor injuries and the man, who was in his 40s, was arrested. No one else was hurt during the incident.
Shoshi Frenkel was in the cinema with a friend when the smoke detectors suddenly started sounding.
"Someone from the movie theater came in and told us people were being asked to leave," she said. "The cinema was fine, but when we came out there was black smoke and we could barely see.
"We went down (the escalator) towards the food court, but that was filled with black smoke too, and it seemed that the smoke was coming from there.
Someone said that there were gas cylinders in the area and that we should hurry out, but people continued to sit and eat and were not rushing. It was only 10 minutes after (the fire) started that people started to leave."
Another visitor to the mall told Ynet: "There was a fire alarm for a few minutes, and when I went into the hallway to find out what was happening, I saw it was full of black smoke."
Daniel Revivo, who was shopping at the mall, said: "I was in a cafe next to the cinema, and then black smoke began to rise, alarms went off and everyone started to run. The security guards told everyone to run downstairs and clear the upper floors and a few minutes later firefighters arrived. At first I could not understand where the fire was coming from - it was frightening."
A spokesperson for the mall said: "The Azrieli Mall Ayalon operations team, together with the security forces and the fire department, quickly and efficiently took control of a local fire that broke out in the kitchen of the Shipudei Hatikva kitchen in the mall's dining area.
"The mall has now returned to normal and continues to be safe for visitors and employees. The cause of the fire will be thoroughly investigated by the mall management, the authorities and relevant agencies, in order to ensure that such an incident occurs in the future."
The fire comes just days after wildfires swept across the country, destroying dozens of homes and burning vast swathes of woodland before they were brought under control.
