Marianne of Gothenburg can now be located 279 nautical miles from Gaza.
-Military vessels and reconnaissance planes appeared near Marianne during Saturday afternoon, says Joel Opperdoes kaptain onboard Marianne.
Opperdoes informs that an undentified vessel and what in his opinion appears as a military reconnaissance aircraft, which during Saturday afternoon could be located near Marianne. The crew could not identify nationality for neither the vessels or the planes.
– The vessel and plane disappeared around 5pm today and we haven’t seen any signs of them since, the kaptain says.

‘There is a Future’ party leader Ya’ir Lapid today called on the Israeli government to arrest activists participating in the Freedom Flotilla’s current attempt to reach Gaza.
In a statement made today, party leader Lapid described the activists aboard Freedom Flotilla III as ‘supporters of terrorist organisations’ acting disguised as human rights advocates.
The Freedom Flotilla, which set sail for Gaza on June 26, is comprised of a number of ships carrying pro-Palestine activists aiming to break the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip.
The Flotilla released a statement on Friday saying that its ‘aim was to break the naval blockade on Gaza’ which is considered the largest open-air prison in the world. Ships came from all over the world to join the Flotilla as it set sail from Crete to Gaza yesterday.
This current campaign comes at a time when Israel is coming under growing international pressure especially after the publication of a UN report which indicated that Israel and Hamas had committed war crimes during the 2014 Israeli aggression in Gaza which left 2200 Palestinians and 73 Israelis dead.
Freedom Flotilla III is carrying 70 activists and crew persons, including the former Tunisian president, Arab Deputy in the Israeli Knesset, Basel Ghatas, and Swedish activist Dror Feilir.
On his Facebook page, Ghatas wrote that “Finally, after some major complications, we now proceed aboard Swedish ship ‘Liberty Marianne’ on the way to Gaza.”
Activist Dror Feiler, who is a Swedish national born in Israel, told Radio Sun that the fleet had suffered from sabotage carried out by ‘professionals’, and had required a fair amount of repair before setting sail.
Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotofila said earlier this week that the State Department is working around the clock ‘through diplomatic channels’ to prevent the arrival of the fleet in Gaza, and condemned the work of ‘provocateurs aiming to tarnish the image of Israel’ concerning the 2010 Israeli attack on the ship Mavi Marmara, which left 10 Turkish activists dead.
Spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Emmanuel Naschon said earlier this week that the Flotilla has “announced their intention to go to Gaza, but we will not allow this because Gaza is under a naval blockade approved by international law.”
In response, Feiler said that the activists were working on obtaining international arrest warrants for any Israeli naval soldier who attempts to prevent the fleet passing.
Israel imposed the blockade on Gaza in June 2006 after an Israeli soldier was kidnapped, and then tightened it further in 2007 following Hamas’ win in the elections.
This is the latest of several attempts to reach the shore of the Gaza Strip.

File photo of Haneen Zoabi from November 2015, when she was barred from entering Al-Aqsa, despite being a member of the Israeli Knesset
An Arab-Israeli member of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, said on Friday that the political-humanitarian message of Freedom Flotilla III would still succeed even if Israel intercepts it in international waters using "aggressive" tactics, as it did in 2010, Al-Resalah has reported.
Haneen Zoabi MK said that the flotilla has put the issue of the Gaza blockade back to the top of the agenda of international diplomacy and reactivated it among stakeholders in Israel. This has caused the Israeli leadership's plans to remove the blockade from the political mindset to fail.
"Whether the occupation allows the flotilla to get through or not," she said, "it will have reminded the world and international community that Israel is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity." Freedom Flotilla III reminds the world that the 8-year Israeli siege on Gaza is a violation of international law, added the MK.
Although she expects Israel to intercept the flotilla, Israeli still thinks that the policy of threatening others is successful. "Israeli political terrorism will not, however, succeed in dealing with the flotilla."
Zoabi took part in the 2010 Freedom Flotilla, which was intercepted by Israeli commandos who killed 9 humanitarians on board in an act of piracy on the high seas. She called on the Palestinian Authority to stop security cooperation with the occupation authorities. She also said that the Israeli government's threats against the Arab-Israel MK on board Freedom Flotilla III would not affect him and his colleagues.

Organizers of the third Freedom Flotilla aid convoy said that four European ships left the Port of Crete Island in Greece for the besieged Gaza Strip.
"Last night, the First Freedom Flotilla ship set sail from the Greek island of Crete heading for the Gaza Strip and was followed by three other ships today. The fifth ship will set off from the same Greek island within the next few hours," spokesman for the European campaign to end the siege on Gaza Rami Abdo told a news conference on Friday evening.
"The boats of the third Freedom Flotilla, which left for the port of Gaza, are carrying a clear message and an invitation to the international community to necessarily lift the blockade on the Strip and establish a seaport and a water passage connecting it with the outside world," Abdo added.
The spokesman also stated that "the convoy's mission is to shed light on Israel's violation of the human rights of about 1.8 million Palestinians living in Gaza, which has become for over eight years the world's largest open-air prison."
He refuted Israel's description of the flotilla as a group of illegal boats trying to enter territorial waters illegally.
"There are no illegal boats. What is illegal and illegitimate is the siege imposed on Gaza, which the European Union and the United Nations have been calling for ending it for years."
"These boats are heading for the Palestinian territorial waters off the shores of Gaza and not for the territories under Israel's control," he said.

UN General-Secretary Ban Ki-Moon is said to be following the case of the Freedom Flotilla III closely, and he believes that sending the fleet 'will not help to address the dire situation in Gaza'
The Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon called on the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to translate his words into action regarding his commitment to a two-state solution.
The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman, said in a speech before the Security Council on Wednesday, that the secretary-general welcomes Netanyahu's commitment to a two-state solution, but he emphasises the need to translate words into action, and accordingly, to halt the Israeli settlement plans in the West Bank.
Feltman said that Ban has requested Israel, in the framework of strengthening trust, secure the "the legitimate movement of people and goods in and between Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem."
He noted that the situation of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails is worrying, adding that the Israeli draft resolution aimed at force feeding detainees on hunger strike, if passed, could be "in contravention of international standards."
Last Sunday, the Israeli government approved, on a preliminary basis, a bill which authorises prison administrations to force feed prisoners on hunger strike, according to local Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
Regarding Freedom Flotilla III, Feltman said that Ban is following the case closely, and he believes that sending the fleet "will not help to address the dire situation in Gaza." But he reiterated his calls on the Israeli government to lift the blockade that has been imposed on Gaza since 2007.

Activists aboard the Marianne av Göteborg say it is carrying medical equipment for hospitals in the Strip; Israel unlikely to allow the flotilla to reach Gaza shores.
A flotilla carrying humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip set sail from Crete overnight Thursday, the Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported.
On board the Swedish "Marianne av Göteborg" boat are Joint Arab List MK Basel Ghattas and former Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki, alongside 70 other activists and crew. Pro-Palestinian activist Dror Feiler, an Israeli who also participated in previous attempts to break Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip, claimed Thursday that there were attempts to sabotage the flotilla.
In an interview with the Nazareth-based Radio al-Shams, Feiler said that "Somebody went underneath the boat at night and sabotaged its propellers." Feiler said a similar sabotage attempt to sabotage one of a flotilla's boats happened in 2011, which is why the activists tried to stay in Greece as little as possible.
Before arriving in the Greek island, the Swedish boat docked in Palermo and Messina in Sicily. He claimed that "There are 'dark forces' that are trying to stop us in all kinds of ways. This was someone who knew what he was doing." The flotilla is due to arrive in Gaza on Sunday or Monday, but it seems unlikely Israel will allow it to reach the Gaza coast.
Earlier this week, MK Ghattas defended his decision to join the flotilla, calling the MKs criticizing him "hypocrites." "They're just trying to get headlines on my expense and I'm not afraid of this kind of conduct. If they revoke my degree, it'll be undemocratic," he said.
Ghattas said the flotilla is transporting medical equipment to hospitals in the Gaza Strip. He also warned Israel of interfering with the flotilla, saying, "I don't want to compare this to what happened with the Mavi Marmara flotilla, but I want to remind you Israel apologized for this incident in the end."
The Knesset's House Committee discussed a request to suspend Ghattas this week, with right-wing MKs vowing to prevent such flotillas with legislation while members of the Joint Arab List insisted "this is a flotilla of peace."
The Knesset plenum also discussed an urgent proposal submitted by Kulanu MK Merav Ben Ari who said, "it can't be that an MK harms the sovereignty of the state he represents. I advise the MK to board the boat, sail to Gaza, stay there and help them solve the humanitarian crisis from inside the Strip."

The Israeli-Swedish activist Dror Feiler said that one of the Flotilla III ships was exposed to sabotage of its propeller.
Dror Feiler who is taking part in the Flotilla III which seeks to break the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip told an Israeli Arab radio station on Thursday that somebody sought to sabotage one of the ships before it set sail toward the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Dror Feiler, a left pro-Palestinian activist and an Israeli national who resides in Sweden, told Radio al-Shams that while one of the ships was at port in Greece, an unidentified individual tried to damage one of the vessel’s propellers.
“We don’t know who it is, but that person went deep underwater and sabotaged the propeller, so we had to find a different boat, Feiler said”.
“There are dark forces that keep trying to stop us all along the way,” he added.
The activist told the radio station that flotilla participants were wary of being prevented from setting sail to Gaza, which is why they spent as little time in Greece as possible.
According to Anadolu Agency, Feiler also told al-Shams that Flotilla III is currently at sea near Crete, and that the sailing is delayed until Friday.

Former Tunisian president Mohammed Al-Marzouki has confirmed on Wednesday his participation in the Third Gaza Freedom Flotilla, saying the convoy refuses any attempt to prevent two million blockaded Palestinians from their legitimate rights.
Al-Marzouki told Anadolu Agency in the Greek city of Crete that all flotilla participants were peaceful protesters and none of them were armed.
"I am with the activists until the end, and I will not give up," he said.
He added that they would only bring medicines to sick children in Gaza.
The former Tunisian president also said that if the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) resorted to violence against them it would be to Israel's disadvantage.
He urged the international community to apply pressure on the IOA, saying: "All of us want peace. We want to see peace in this region of the world."
Meanwhile, member of the international coalition to break the siege on Gaza Anwar al-Gharbi criticized, earlier in the day, the threat made by Israel that it would prevent the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla III from reaching the blockaded Strip of Gaza.
Gharbi, a former foreign affairs adviser to the president of Tunisia, stressed that such threats reflect Israel's plans to commit a crime by preventing peaceful solidarity activists from doing their humanitarian duty towards the besieged people of Gaza.
He urged the international community and human rights organizations to shoulder their responsibilities of protecting the flotilla and those taking part in it, and preventing the Israeli occupation from continuing to violate international laws related to the protection of the free movement of civilians and reaching besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip
Earlier, Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon announced that the army will not allow the arrival of the Gaza-bound flotilla which is intended to be launched from Greece, adding that instructions have been issued to the concerned authorities to be prepared to stop the convoy.
Apart from Al-Marzouki, human rights activists from all over the world are aboard the flotilla.
The first Gaza Freedom Flotilla expedition in May 2010 ended in tragedy after Israeli commandos killed eight Turkish nationals and an American of Turkish origin in a raid on the flotilla ship, Mavi Marmara. Another person of Turkish nationality died in a hospital in 2014 after being in coma for almost four years.
Israel has maintained a tight blockade on the Gaza Strip since 2007.
In July and August of 2014, more than 2,200 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were killed and 11,000 injured -- mostly women and children -- during Israel's 51-day military offensive on the coastal enclave.
Al-Marzouki told Anadolu Agency in the Greek city of Crete that all flotilla participants were peaceful protesters and none of them were armed.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition delivered Wednesday a message to UN representative in Gaza Alexey Maslov, directed to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, calling for international protection for the flotilla and guarantees that it would not be intercepted on its way to Gaza.
Head of the Coalition of the International Committee to break the siege of Gaza, Zaher Birawi, held the UN moral and legal responsibility in light of the Israeli threats.
Israel continues its violations against Palestinian people and their supporters all over the world in total disregard of international laws and norms, he said.
Israel earlier announced that its army will not allow Flotilla 3 to reach Gaza and orders have been given to competent authorities in order to stop the convoy and prevent its arrival in the regional waters of Palestine.
The Freedom Flotilla Coalition is an international network of civil society grass roots campaigns, organizing and supporting non-violent direct action by sea to challenge, with the goal of ending, the Israeli blockade of Gaza.
The Israeli blockade of Gaza formally began in 2007 although there had been previous episodes of unilateral closures. The blockade stifles the Palestinian population and denies them their basic human rights of freedom of movement and trade in violation of the international law.

Ex-Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki said his participation in Flotilla III is for the support of human rights describing it as a civilized action.
The former Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki underlined that being onboard of Flotilla III is consistent with his human rights beliefs and has no political embarrassment to any party in Tunisia.
“My participation in Flotilla III is in solidarity with oppressed people living under the rubble with violated rights. As a human rights man, it is normal to support those people, especially that I am no more serving an official position that dictates to abide by political duties”, Marzouki said.
He slammed those who believe that his participation embarrasses some parties in Tuniasia, saying “I represent only myself in my human rights capacity and I deny any relationship between my participation and Tunisian political interests”.
“Taking part in Flotilla III is risky; however, it is not against the current. Flotilla III is a proof that there is a great support of human rights despite obstacles. There are over 100 participants of different religions, cultures and civilizations onboard heading to Gaza just to refuse tyranny against the Palestinian people in blockaded enclave. We are on the right track, I believe”, he said.

Deputy Interior Minister Yaron Mazuz
Furor erupts in the Knesset following controversial remarks, leading to back and forth between Arab, other left-wing MKs and coalition members.
Deputy Interior Minister Yaron Mazuz (Likud) caused an uproar in the Knesset on Wednesday when told Arab MK Hanin Zoabi that the State of Israel was "doing you a favor in giving you ID cards" during a discussion on the Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law.
Mayhem broke out following the controversial remarks, with MK Michal Rozin (Meretz) walking up to the podium with her ID card, while others demanded Mazuz to apologize.
Mazuz's refused to apologize for his remarks and said: "Anyone who supports terrorism won't be here."
MK Hanin Zoabi from the Joint Arab List demanded he apologize, saying "We won't allow you to continue to speak," while other MKs called out "Shame on you!"
But Mazuz was unfazed and turned to Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstien, telling him "Send them out, (they're) insolent."
The session then broke out into yelling and furor, bringing the discussion to a halt.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu then took to the podium, saying: "I want to say two things: the right to be elected and to elect is a universal right - that is not the discussion. I am talking about the issue of hypocrisy. I can tell the difference between the two things, you have the right to say these things, and the right is given, and we will protect that right, I will protect it. But we don’t have to agree with the hypocrisy. I didn’t hear condemnations from the MKs here on the real war crimes happening in Syria, and Yemen. I didn’t hear a word on these issues, all I hear is false preaching against IDF soldiers."
"All citizens of Israel, Jews and non-Jews, have a right to vote and be elected, however every citizen has the duty to obey the laws of the land. No one has the right to raise false accusations of war crimes against IDF soldiers who protect all of us," he added.
Sliman responded to Netanyahu, saying, "Those who expected the prime minister to defend our right to do our jobs must have been dreaming. The prime minister is justifying Yaron Mazuz's campaign of indictment. We are being slandered. A government built on rampant incitement, only such a government can pass a law that collectively disinherits the right to family life from the Palestinians. Those talking about terrorism should see that they are using terrorism. No one is doing me a favor by giving me an ID card."
Likud MK Oren Hazan yelled at her: "It's shameful that you are here," while Culture Minister Miri Regev joined in, calling out from her seat: "Anyone who gets on a flotilla should turn in their ID card." The Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law is a temporary provision, and was approved by the Knesset on July 31, 2003. It authorizes the government to extend the provision, which it does every year, while adding amendments.
The Israeli government used this provision to stop granting citizenship under the framework of family unifications to residents of Gaza and the West Bank who have relatives living within the Green Line. The law gives the interior minister and the commander of IDF forces in the West Bank the authority to grant the status of permanent resident in special circumstances.
MK Suliman's proposed legislation, which meant to appeal the extension of the citizenship law, was rejected by a majority of 55 against, compared to 18 in favor, and two abstained. A smiliar proposal by Meretz leader Zehava Galon was also rejected, with 54 against, 17 for, and two abstained.
A large portion of the opposition was not present in the plenum at the time of the vote, while some of the MKs, including Opposition Chairman Isaac Herzog (Zionist Union), chose not to participate in the vote even though he was present. Zionist Union MKs Omer Bar-Lev and Itzik Shmuly chose to abstain.
In response to the Zionist Union MKs' decision not to vote, Meretz leader Galon announced her party would not attend opposition meetings until further notice.
Zionist Union co-leader Tzipi Livni spoke after the contentious vote, saying, "I entered the plenum to vote against the proposal to cancel the citizenship law, a position which in this case happens to be the same as the government's position. And then a deputy minister gets up to the podium and announces he will revoke the citizenship of anyone who acts or talks against the state, with each word becoming more and more inciting, bad, and meant to shut people up. He is not talking on his own behalf, but on the behalf of the government.
"The prime minister indicates that he too wants to talk, and for a moment I am hoping to see a responsible prime minister who comes to calm down the situation, one that truly regrets his comments about the Arabs who come in droves to the polls, one who understands things are getting out of control. Instead we got a prime minister who upgrades his comment. Now it's Arabs and hypocrites who are going to the polls in droves. You might have won the elections, but you won't win over us," she said.
Head of Wafa Campaign Amin Abu Rashid told Quds Press that Freedom Flotilla 3 postponed its trip to break the siege on Gaza for two days to finalize preparations.
The Coalition of the International Committee to break the siege of Gaza, the founding member of the Freedom Flotilla, said that the flotilla, consisting of five ships, is ready to sail towards Gaza shores.
Member of the committee Zaher Birawi pointed out that all the participants and activists enjoy high morale as they are looking forward to the zero hour.
The five vessels are expected to sail to Gaza within 24 hours, carrying dozens of pro-Palestinian activists from 25 different countries, including former Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki and four Arab MPs.

Member of Freedom Flotilla III International Coalition to break the siege on Gaza, Anwar al-Gharbi strongly slammed the Israeli threats to prevent Flotilla’s expected arrival in Gaza in a few hours.
Al-Gharbi said these threats indicate an Israeli intention to commit an illegal crime by preventing peaceful solidarity people from doing their humanitarian duties toward the besieged Gazan people.
In a statement to Quds Press al-Ghabri undermined the Israeli threats and opined that they point to the Israeli preparedness to commit a crime against the international law which guarantees freedom of movement and humanitarian solidarity.
He called on the international community and human rights organizations to shoulder their responsibilities in terms of protecting Flotilla III and the participants onboard as well as halting the Israeli violation of international laws on protecting the movement of civilians and visiting the besieged people in Gaza.
Israel earlier announced that its army will not allow Flotilla III to reach Gaza and orders have been given to competent authorities in order to stop the convoy and prevent its arrival in the regional water of Palestine.

House Committee meets to discuss impending flotilla to be joined by MK Ghattas; Israel Beiteinu MK calls for legislation on conduct of Arab peers.
The political storm surrounding MK Bassel Ghattas of the Joint Arab List and his decision to join a flotilla meant to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza, came to a head Tuesday at a House Committee meeting during which MK Haneen Zoabi, also from the Joint Arab List, was removed during aggressive verbal arguments.
During the meeting MK Sharon Gal from Israel Beiteinu said that the conduct of Arab MKs should be regulated by a formal bill that will be presented to the legislative committee on Sunday inspired by Zoabi's participation in the Mavi Marmara flotilla in 2012 when Israeli commandos boarded the ship and were met with violence.
Members of the Joint Arab List claimed at the event that the flotilla due to set out from Greece has peaceful intentions while MKs from other parties called for Ghattas' suspension in light of his decision participate in the flotilla.
The flotilla's organizers met in Greece on Tuesday in preparation to set sail. Ghattas was among them and was interview by Euronews.
In an interview with Ynet, Ghattas called MKs condemning his decision "hypocrites," saying they were "trying to make headlines at my expense. I want to remind them that Israel apologized over the Marmara affair."
The three-ship flotilla, which was organized by Swedish pro-Palestinian activists, will include academics, parliament members, artists and others. Among the participants are Spanish MP Ana Miranda and ex-pat Israeli Dror Feiler - an artist and left-wing activist who has lived in Sweden for many years. Video

MK Bassel Ghattas
Emergency Knesset session and possible suspension are just some of the reactions to MK Bassel Ghattas' decision to participate in Gaza flotilla.
Joint Arab List MK Bassel Ghattas' decision to participate in the upcoming Gaza flotilla has caused an uproar in the Knesset on Monday.
Kulanu MK Meirav Ben-Ari (Kulanu) requested a special Knesset session on the matter, which was scheduled for Wednesday.
"The MK is making a cynical use of his immunity and looking to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with provocation rather than peace," Ben-Ari said. "A member of Knesset who acts against the Knesset and the State of Israel, his immunity should be reconsidered and the Knesset's Ethics Committee should examine this case."
In an interview with Ynet, Ghattas called MKs condemning his decision "hypocrites," saying they were "trying to make headlines at my expense. I want to remind them that Israel apologized over the Marmara affair."
Ghattas is referring to a 2010 Israeli commando raid of a Turkish boat which attempted to break the blockade over Gaza.
Concurrently, the Chairman of the Knesset's House Committee, MK David Bitton (Likud), called a special meeting of the committee on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of suspending MK Ghattas from the moment he steps aboard the ship.
Ghattas rejected the request to suspend him, saying "I am performing my duty as a publicly elected representative. I am not doing anything illegal or illegitimate. My participation in the humanitarian flotilla to Gaza is my right and duty.
The issue is not the flotilla but the humanitarian crisis that exists for a million Palestinians, as a result of Israel's blockade." Meanwhile, Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev has approached Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, demanding to remove Ghattas' immunity if he joins the flotilla. "We must end the use of the position of MK as a tool to undermine the government," Regev wrote. "Its time to instill order, and prevent Arab MKs from inciting against Israel."
Ghattas is not the first Arab MK to board a flotilla. His Joint Arab List colleague, MK Hanin Zoabi, was on the Mavi Marmara flotilla in 2010. She submitted a bill proposal to allow the new flotilla to arrive in Gaza. "The Israeli blockade on Gaza is a massive crime, as are the war and killing of civilians,"
Joint Arab List MK Ayman Odeh said. "We support the humanitarian flotilla and MK Bassel Ghattas. The flotilla is meant to put the spotlight on the terrible suffering of Gaza's residents, they live in a massive prison."
Ghattas originally sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon stating his intention to board the ship. "There is no reason to prevent us from reaching Gaza and administering the aid that we are bringing with us," he stated. "I call on you to instruct the IDF to stay away from the flotilla and allow us safe passage. Taking over the ships and preventing them from reaching Gaza will only embroil Israel in another international crisis, for which you and your government will bear responsibility."

Member of Hamas political bureau Ezzat al-Resheq hailed the efforts exerted by the participants in Freedom Flotilla III heading to blockaded Gaza Strip for breaking the siege and warned Israel of attacking it.
In a statement to Quds Press, Resheq called on "the free people of the world" to support Flotilla III.
The Hamas senior official warned the Israeli forces of attacking Flotilla III, saying that “the Israeli efforts to obstruct the arrival of Flotilla III to Gaza constitute downright piracy that exposes Israeli criminality and racism”.
Flotilla III officials declared the completeness of all preparations to set sail the Flotilla III toward Gaza with the participation of Arab and European activists along with parliament and political figures most significant: Tunisia’s ex-president Dr. Mohamed al-Moncef al-Marzouki.
In the same context, the spokesman of Hamas Fawzi Barhoum said the Israeli threats to attack the Flotilla is mere intimidation of the activists on board in order to dissuade them from going on such a humanitarian noble action.
Barhoum hailed the people on board and the campaigners of Flotilla III, urging them to insist on reaching Gaza regardless of the Israeli threats.
He said “the people of Gaza cannot wait to receive Flotilla III as they look at it with great hope of breaking the siege and exposing the crimes of Israel”.
Israeli media sources disclosed Sunday evening that the Israeli army received orders to hinder the arrival of Flotilla III in Gaza Strip.

The Freedom Flotilla III heading to blockaded Gaza will set sail within the next few hours despite Israeli threats to obstruct the humanitarian mission, head of the Miles of Smiles convoy, Dr. Issam Youssef, said Monday.
Youssef said the benevolent activists expressed their commitment to head to the Gaza Strip and work on lifting the siege regardless of the threats and circumstances.
Tunisia’s ex-president Dr. Mohamed al-Moncef al-Marzouki, along with a number of Arab and European activists, arrived in Greece to join the convoy.
Youssef spoke out against Israeli intents to attack the campaigners, calling on the international community to take up its ethical responsibility in protecting the multi-national convoy.
Meanwhile, the European campaign to end the siege on Gaza called, in a press conference held in Gaza Monday, for providing protection to the pro-Palestine volunteers who have joined the Freedom Flotilla III.
It also pushed for taking legal action against Israeli assailants and filing suits with international courts.
Head of the Euro-mid Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdo, called for the need to urgently lift the siege on Gaza and open a waterway from Gaza’s seaport so as to assuage to crises rocking the besieged coastal enclave.
He urged the international community to seriously work on providing the delegation with the needed security shields, pushing for stepping up pressure on the Israeli occupation so as to lighten the noose tightened around Gazans’ necks.

An Israeli channel claimed on Sunday that the Israeli army had received orders not to allow the third Freedom Flotilla aid campaign to reach the Gaza Strip.
A military source told channel 2 that the Freedom Flotilla would not arrive in Gaza.
There are orders from the highest political echelons of the Israeli government to intercept the convoy and use force if necessary, the source affirmed.
