Israeli security agencies are on alert over the potential for anti-Israel cyber-attacks by Anonymous on Thursday, after the hacker group previously targeted the Israeli occupation each April 7.
According to Israeli news outlets, the attacks in solidarity with the Palestinians have in the past succeeded in blocking government sites, including the ministries of defense and foreign affairs.
In the past attacks, Israeli governmental and company sites have been shut down, sites have been hijacked to display photos and videos from Anonymous, and data has been pirated and made public.
Dozens of experts in different sectors as well as hackers are to gather Thursday in Tel Aviv to monitor potential attacks and offer help to companies and institutions targeted.
The April 7 cyber-attacks were first launched in 2013, blocking government sites and penetrating thousands of Israeli private accounts on social media networks.

The Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) exercised pressures on Twitter administration to close accounts affiliated with Hamas Movement including al-Qassam Brigades spokesman’s account, Israeli media sources said.
English and Arabic language accounts of al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s armed wing, had been shut down, an Israeli newspaper pointed out, saying one of those closed accounts had been followed by over 140,000 followers.
The newspaper pointed out that Hamas had earlier accused Twitter of showing a "clear bias to the Israeli occupation where it should adopt a neutral position toward both sides."
Hamas has also warned of the "serious cooperation" between the Israeli authorities and Twitter administration and its implications on freedom of expression, the Israeli newspaper continued.

The information office of Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s armed wing, slammed in a brief statement issued Thursday evening Twitter’s closure of the brigades’ accounts in English and Arabic, considering it a clear bias to Israel.
At a time when Twitter opens its platform to Israeli occupation figures and institutions teaming with racism, extremism and terrorism, the company closes, for the third consecutive time in two weeks, the official accounts of the Qassam Brigades in English and Arabic in flagrant violation of our right according to the commitment it made in front of the world, and in a clear bias to Israel.
It should demonstrate neutral position toward both sides, the statement said. “Military Information Department of al-Qassam Brigades condemn this action by Twitter, and call on the company to comply with its declared principles, especially (To give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers).” "We also call on the company to reconsider the decision and reopen the closed accounts", according to the statement.
Al-Qassam Brigades affirmed that it has a clear message of freedom and anti Israeli racism, and it will continue struggle to deliver its message to the world, which now distinguishes between the victim and the executioner.

Israeli military court of Salem extended the detention of the Palestinian journalist Sami al-Saee, from Tulkarem city, to May 15 after presenting an indictment against him with the charge of incitement on Facebook.
The wife of the captive Amani al-Jendeb told Quds Press that the indictment included complete details on posts and comments on her husband’s Facebook page.
The wife said that her husband refused all charges against him, insisting on the fact that he practices his work as a journalist with professionalism.
He spent 10 days in solitary confinement at Megiddo Israeli jail, she pointed out. Israeli forces arrested journalist Saee, 35, from his home in Tulkarem on March 09. He works as a news editor at al-Fajr al-Jadid local TV in the city. Detainee Saee spent 4 months in Israeli jails in 1997.

The Israeli magistrate court of Jerusalem on Thursday indicted two Israelis who issued death threats against Palestinian member of the Israeli Knesset Ahmad Tibi.
The indictment list issued on Thursday said that the two threatened Tibi, a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship, via Facebook posts in 2012 that read "you better run before you are killed" and "your end is near."
The lawyer of one of the Israelis said his client would prove in court that her statement did not constitute a criminal offense and that she had the right to express her opinion.
Ahmad Mhanna, a lawyer and Tibi’s parliamentary assistant, said "the mentioned threats, in addition to dozens of threats by extremists Jews against MK Tibi whether by mail or social media, reflect hostility and hatred against Arabs and Tibi, who is defending his people everywhere."
"We take these threats seriously, but that does not scare Dr. Tibi and he does not change his principles," he added.
Israeli public opinion has veered sharply to the right in recent years, with Palestinian citizens of Israel and Israeli leftists increasingly finding themselves the targets of hostility.
MKs Hanin Zoabi, Basel Ghattas, and Jamal Zahalqa -- who, like Tibi, are members of the Arab Joint List -- were suspended from their duties in February after they visited the families of Palestinians who were killed after attacking Israelis.
On Monday, the Knesset passed the first reading of a bill that would allow MKs to expel lawmakers, in what has been roundly condemned as a political campaign launched against the parliament's Palestinian members.
The bill -- an amendment to an existing law -- could see an MK suspended for "negating" the existence of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, incitement to racism, or supporting an armed struggle against Israel, according to the Association for Civil Rights (ACRI) in Israel.

The Israeli police said it had arrested, in cooperation with the Shin Bet, a Palestinian electronics and software engineer accused of hacking into broadcast feeds from Israeli air force drones.
A police statement named the suspect as Majd Ouida, 22, from the Gaza Strip.
Spokeswoman for the police Luba Samri said that Ouida faces multiple charges for his actions, including espionage, conspiracy to commit a crime, computer hacking and transferring information to an enemy with the intent to harm Israel's national security.
Samri added that Ouida, who heads the "Palestinian talents society," was arrested on February 23 while en route from Gaza to the West Bank to attend a meeting with young candidates on a television singing contest.
According to the indictment filed against him, the detainee was able to hack into the Israeli army's network of drones, code a computer program that enabled the viewing of road cameras, obtain information on the movement of Israeli forces and civilians during wars on Gaza and rocket strikes.
Furthermore, he is claimed to have developed an application that compiled information on the movement of planes at Israel’s Ben Gurion international airport, which enabled him to gain access to passenger manifestos, plane weights and makes, and takeoff and landing times.

Israeli magistrate court on Tuesday extended the detention order of the Jerusalemite sit-inner woman Sahar al-Natsheh to 24 hours for the charge of incitement on Facebook.
Lawyer Khaled Zabarqa, said in a press statement, that Israeli authorities prosecute Jerusalemite sit-inners in order to impose the presence of Jewish settlers at the Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli forces arrested Natsheh while she was in the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem. Her name has been for seven months included in the black list of the banned Jerusalemite sit-inners from entering the Aqsa.
Samiha Shahin, friend of captive Natsheh, told the PIC reporter that her friend was longing to spend the Mother's Day with her five daughters, son and grandchildren, but Israeli forces deprived her of that joy.
The captive’s daughter, Layla, told the PIC reporter that sadness has prevailed in the house since the arrest of her mother. She expressed her pride of her mother for her participation in the sit-in events at the Aqsa and said she along with her siblings will always support her in that.

An Israeli military court on Thursday extended the detention of Palestinian journalist Sami al-Sa'ie, from Tulkarem city, at the pretext there were further legal proceedings to complete.
According to the wife of the journalist, the military court of Ofer in Jenin extended the detention of Sa'ie for eight more days on allegations of allowing the prosecutor to prepare an indictment against him.
The Shin Bet has accused journalist Sa'ie, who is being held in Huwara military camp, of inciting to violence on Facebook pages. He was kidnapped from his home on March 9.
The journalist works as a news reporter for al-Fajer al-Jadid satellite channel and worked previously for some Palestinian websites.

After tweeting in 2014 that Hitler was the 'Zionist God' and that Jews have 'big noses,' Vicki Kirby was suspended. Recently, however, she regained an official position in the party, leading to an uproar.
A UK Labour Party member and former parliamentary candidate, Vicki Kirby, has been suspended by the party for the second time over anti-Semitic tweets she posted in 2014, saying Jews have big noses and Hitler is the "Zionist God."
In the tweets Kirby posted in 2014, she wrote, "We invented Israel when saving them from Hitler, who now seems to be their teacher." She also wrote, "I will never forget and I will make sure my kids teach their children how evil Israel is!"
Following an investigation in 2014, Kirby was suspended for a period of time and then readmitted to the party with a warning.
A Labour party spokesman said on Monday that “Vicki Kirby was suspended from the Labour party following comments on social media in 2014. Following her resignation as a parliamentary candidate she received a warning from the national executive committee (NEC) on her future conduct and the suspension was then lifted. If new evidence comes to light, the Labour party will review that evidence and make sure the rules of the party are upheld.”
Recently, however, she was able to regain an official position as the vice-chairman of Labour’s branch in Woking, Surrey, which caused an uproar.
Kirby was suspended for the second time this week, hours after a parliamentary meeting of Labour MPs. According to The Guardian, Senior MP Louise Ellman said at the meeting that relations between the party and the Jewish community in Britain were "at rock bottom."
The Labour Party has faced increasing accusations in recent months about the activity of radical anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli officials in its ranks. The party is making efforts to dissociate itself from such activity.
Labor Party Chairman Jeremy Corbin, who is considered one of Israel's harshest critics and called Hamas and Hezbollah his "friends," said that there is no place in the Labour party for anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or xenophobia of any type.
Moreover, the Labour Party opened investigation against Kirby, and she may very well be ousted from the party at its conclusion.

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested 150 Palestinians for their posts on Facebook and charged some of them with incitement against Israel and held others under administrative detention.
The Detainee and Ex-detainee committee said, in a statement on Saturday, that the Israeli government formed what is called “Arab Cyber Force” in the Israeli police for the purpose of chasing Palestinian social networks.
The arrests were focused in Occupied Jerusalem in consistence with the Israeli policy of tightening the noose on Jerusalemite people. The committee revealed that the Israeli penalty for expressing political opinions on Facebook is either dismissing captives from their work positions inside 1948 Occupied Palestine or deporting them outside of their neighborhoods.
The committee considered such penalties as arbitrary confiscation of the right of expression.

Ofer Israeli military court, in the Ramallah region, on Thursday morning, 10 March 2016, has agreed to release activist Manal Tamimi (43) after two days of detention, on a fine of 4,000 shekels (approximately $1,000), and other restrictions.
Restrictions include that Manal does not publish any Facebook posts or photos about one of the Israeli border guards (Yousef Nasser Eddin), who complained that she shared a video of him violently attacking Palestinian paramedics and journalists, during clashes near Beit El checkpoint, to the north of Ramallah, back in October of 2015.
Manal was also conditioned, according to the PNN, not to direct any “virtual threats” against any Israeli officers.
On Wednesday, the court decided to extend Manal’s arrest until Friday, 11 March 2016.
On 8 March 2016, International Women’s Day, Manal was kidnapped from her home in Al-Nabi Saleh village, also near Ramallah, after Israeli forces stormed the home at 1:30 AM.

Watchdog group Palestinian Media Watch YouTube account closed following a post of a girl reading a poem inciting to 'destroy the Zionist soul', which violates ban on hateful content.
Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) had its YouTube account removed on Sunday, March 6, after the video site said it had violated terms of service.
PMW, which monitors and exposes incitement in Palestinian media, last posted a video to YouTube on Thursday. The video showed a Palestinian girl reading a poem on official Palestinian Authority television calling for a “war that will smash the oppressor and destroy the Zionist soul.”
According to PMW, YouTube entirely shut down the group’s primary account. A check of the portal on Sunday night, March 6, showed that it was gone, with text announcing: "This account has been terminated due to repeated or severe violations of our Community Guidelines and/or claims of copyright infringement."
According to Itamar Marcus, PMW’s founder and director, YouTube has removed PMW material in the past on the grounds that it constituted hateful content.
“In the past, they’ve given us warnings about particular videos because they misinterpret them to be hate speech. Then they would take those videos down, and we would have to explain to them that, in fact, they are designed to expose hate speech. And then they would always repost them,” Marcus told Tazpit Press Service.
PMW’s work on exposing media incitement has been recognized by European governments, and the organization has briefed parliamentarians from around the world. Indeed, on Friday a 25-minute debate took place in the Swedish parliament in which the Palestinian Authority’s support for the current terror wave was discussed, with evidence based entirely on PMW documentation.
“There was no warning at all,” Marcus said of the videos’ removal. “They didn’t give any more information than about the violation of terms. We know what the violation was because they have done this before, but they don’t get that it is Palestinian incitement that we are exposing rather than promoting.”
The organization’s YouTube account was shut down in 2010 for similar reasons. After a barrage of complaints, the account was reinstated.
“There is very little you can do. You can try to contact them, but they don’t make it easy to do so. We can send feedback and hope that other people will do the same. Send feedback and all we can do is hope they will respond.”
