Palestinian minister of education Sabri Sidem said Wednesday that the Gaza Strip needs another 123 schools.
This came during his meeting with minister of public works and housing Mufid Hasayna to discuss arrangements for the construction of three schools in Gaza with funding from Oman.
Sidem affirmed his ministry’s keenness on building and renovating schools in Gaza in order to provide a safe and healthy educational environment for the Palestinian students.

The Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority confirmed, on Wednesday, that it is continuing to develop the electricity sector in Palestine, especially in the field of renewable energy, despite Israeli threats.
In a statement received by WAFA agency, the Energy Authority said it is “continuing to develop this sector despite the Israeli obstacles, and is ready to cooperate with all parties to agree on a mechanism acceptable to both parties without derogating from our rights provided by law.”
The Energy Authority rejected the practices of the so-called “Israeli Civil Administration”, the latest of which was the immediate threat of severe measurements if the Palestinian Energy Authority or private sector establish renewable energy projects in the field of energy.
The authority pointed out that energy projects are licensed by the Energy Authority on A areas of the West Bank, which fall under compete Palestinian control, after confirming the safety of the specifications of these projects to ensure that no negative impact on the network.
Therefore, the Energy Authority added that it does not find any technical justification or technical basis for the allegations made by the Civil Administration of “violation of the agreements with the Israeli side. ”
“As we seek to strengthen the efforts of the Palestinian leadership and its government to liberate the land and people from Israeli occupation on our Palestinian land by strengthening the national policy agenda for the energy sector in Palestine, which aims to create an independent energy sector and a free electric market free of dependence on the Israeli occupier, Including the transfer of powers to manage the electricity sector of the Palestinian side, according to the recent agreement signed between the two parties, but the occupying state is constantly seeking to undermine these endeavors by devoting the role of the “civil administration” and its plans for seeking to keep the principle of subordination to them, and disable all that would be the sector free from their agenda, which is far from the interests of our people,” statement concluded, according to PNN.

Israeli soldiers invaded, Wednesday, the Sammoa’ town, south of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, and demolished a Palestinian school.
Media sources in Hebron said the soldiers surrounded Seemia area, north of the Sammoa’ town, and declared it a closed military zone, preventing the Palestinians from entering it.
They added that the soldiers then used their armored bulldozers to demolish the Tahadi 13 small school of several classrooms and their facilities.
The school was sponsored by the Palestinian Ministry of Education through European funding, with a total cost of 40.000 Euros, and was supposed to open in two days.
The Ministry of Education denounced the ongoing Israeli violations, targeting educational facilities and students, and added that the school is located in Area C of the West Bank, under full Israeli military and administrative control.
The school was built to make it easier for students in that area to reach it, especially due to Israeli military roadblocks and restrictions imposed by the military in various areas of Hebron.
It is worth mentioning that the soldiers have demolished many Tahadi schools in that same area, and other parts of the West Bank, as part of Israel’s illegal attempts to confiscate the lands to use them for military purposes and colonialist activities.

Israeli bulldozers demolished on Tuesday a number of Palestinian facilities in Beit Hanin, Jabal Mukabber, and Sur Barhir in occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources said that Israeli forces along with bulldozers stormed Beit Hanin town and demolished a commercial facility after confiscating building materials.
The Israeli bulldozers carried out the demolition for being allegedly built without permit.
At the same time, a large unit of Israeli police stormed Jabal Mukabber neighborhood and cordoned off a house under construction before bulldozers demolished the house under the pretext of being built without a rarely-issued Israeli license.
Police reportedly restricted Palestinian movement in the area and assaulted Palestinians who attempted to fight back against bulldozers.
Also in occupied Jerusalem, Israeli bulldozers demolished a newly built house in Sur Bahir town for being allegedly built without Israeli permit.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday evening handed a Palestinian citizen a stop-work order against an agricultural well in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem in the West Bank.
Local official Ahmed Salah said that Israeli soldiers gave farmer Mahmoud Ba’rah a written notice ordering him to stop building a well in Wadi Abu Hasan area in the town.
He added that Ba’rah was given until January 3, 2019 to file an objection against the order.

According to Hebron’s Rehabilitation Committee, Israeli authorities have imposed a ban on renovations of a kindergarten in the southern Occupied West Bank city of Hebron, Ma’an reported on Sunday.
No justification was provided, by Israel, for the stop work order on the school building belonging to Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society is a humanitarian organization that, according to its website, provides “health and social services to the Palestinian people when and where needed.”
The building is located near the Ibrahimi Mosque (The Cave of the Patriarchs), in H2 section of Al Khalil (Hebron), which is under full Israeli control.
The 1997 Hebron Agreement/Protocol was an agreement between Israel, represented by Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Palestinian Liberation Organization, represented by Yasser Arafat, lifting military control over 80% (H1), with 20% (H2) of Al-Khalil remaining under full Israeli control.

The Mayor of Ya’bad, Samer Abu Bakr, said dozens of soldiers in several army jeeps, and a military bulldozer, invaded Emreeha area in the town, closed the road leading to the land where the center is planned to be built, and destroyed the newly paved road.
Abu Bakr added that the Local Council which approved the construction, has already started the foundation work for the center, and said that the soldiers prevented him and members of the council, from even approaching the area.
He stated that the planned building, which Israel is trying to prevent, aims at constructing a medical center for women and children, a kindergarten and a daycare center, with a total size of 320 square/meters.
Three weeks ago, the soldiers invaded Ya’bad, and illegally confiscated a mobile home, where an elderly woman lived.

The Israeli occupation authorities gave order on Sunday for halting the construction of five Palestinian homes in the southern West Bank under the guise of unlicensed construction.
Israeli forces rolled into Shoushahla village, in Bethlehem, and notified four Palestinians to stop underway construction works.
At the same time, Israeli soldiers handed over a halt-construction order to a Palestinian citizen in Beit Ummar town, in al-Khalil, under the pretext that it is being built without a construction permit.
According to data by the Quds Center for the Study of Palestinian-Israeli Affairs (NGO), the Israeli occupation authorities demolished 19 Palestinian structures and notified the demolition of 15 others during October.

Tension flared up in Qaryut village, east of Nablus city, on Saturday morning after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) prevented the construction of an agricultural road.
Anti-settlement activist Bashar al-Qaryuti said that the IOF stopped Palestinian citizens working in the construction of a new agricultural road, held them at gunpoint, and ordered them to leave the area.
Al-Qaryuti said that the workers refused to obey the ordered, while dozens of Palestinian families rushed to the area to support them.
He added that the IOF soldiers have repeatedly attacked Palestinian workers and prevented construction works in the village, which is located in Area B, which is, based on the Oslo Accords, exclusively administered by the Palestinian Authority.

The Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday afternoon stormed al-Zawiya town, west of Salfit, and distributed stop-work orders against four Palestinian buildings under construction.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that several military patrols raided the western neighborhood of al-Zawiya and handed four Palestinian citizens stop-construction orders for allegedly building in Area C.
The buildings are owned by the Palestinian citizens Eyad Shuqeir, Basheer Noureldin, Izzallah Husein, and Abdullah Abdulhalim.
The sources said that these orders fall in line with an Israeli plan to limit the Palestinian construction activity in Salfit, noting that Salfi is the most affected area in the West Bank by Israel's settlement expansion projects.

An armed guard of an illegal Israeli colony near Qaryout town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, attacked a member of the town’s local council and a bulldozer driver, while conducting preparation work for a new agricultural road.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official who monitors Israeli illegal colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said the two Palestinians were assaulted in Tbeisa area, west of Qaryout.
He added that the Israeli guard assaulted the two to stop the preparation work, and added that the lands are in Area B of the occupied West Bank, under civil Palestinian control, and under full Israeli military control.
The attack is part of numerous violations by the illegal colonialist settlers living in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in violation of International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) distributed on Thursday military orders to a number of Bedouin families to halt construction of their 17 facilities in the Jordan Valley.
Bedouin families in the northern Jordan Valley were ordered by the Israeli military to stop construction of 17 agricultural facilities in Khirbet Thra’a Awad and Maksar for allegedly being built without permit, Aref Daraghmeh, a local rights activist, said on Thursday.
Daraghmeh called on human rights institutions to intervene and to support the Bedouin families especially as winter season approaches.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces erected early today a number of tents in Agnissnia northwest of Nablus, to the north of West Bank, as a prelude to conduct military training.
Palestinian-owned agricultural lands were stormed during the military exercises, local sources told PIC reporter.

The Israeli occupation authorities on Sunday issued stop-work orders against three Palestinian houses under construction in al-Walaja village, north of Bethlehem.
Activist Ibrahim Awadallah said that the Israeli forces during the early morning hours stormed al-Walaja and handed three Palestinian families notices ordering them to stop the construction work in their houses for allegedly being unlicensed.
Awadallah told Quds Press that al-Walaja is targeted by an Israeli systematic plan aimed at pushing the village's residents to leave the area by depriving them of their right to expand their buildings and obtain building permits.
In another context, the Israeli occupation forces on Sunday erected barbed wire along a bypass road in Tuqu' town under the pretext of protecting Israeli settlers against stone-throwing attacks.
Furthermore, Israeli settlers, under the protection of the Israeli forces, bulldozed Palestinian lands in Khillat al-Nahla area in Bethlehem in preparation for the construction of a bypass road and new agricultural facilities for the settlers.
