The Palestinians Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement, Sunday, strongly denouncing the latest Israeli violations, carried out by both soldiers and illegal colonialist setters, against the Palestinians and their olive orchards, and stating that this serious escalation that is part of new plans to build and expands colonies.
The Ministry issued its statement after a series of assaults carried out by the illegal colonists and the soldiers against the Palestinians and international activists, picking olive trees in Palestinian orchards in the occupied West Bank, especially in the northern West Bank governorate of Nablus, in addition to Jenin, Tulkarem, Ramallah and Bethlehem, among other areas.
It stated that the fact that after the colonists invaded Palestinian olive orchards in Qaryout village, southwest of Nablus, and assaulted the locals and the international activists, who were helping them in picking their trees, Israeli soldiers followed this violation with another attack against them, instead of removing the assailing illegal colonists, is yet another proof of the alternating roles they play in their violations.
The Ministry added that the attacks were carried out three days in a row, and aim at preventing the Palestinians from entering their olive orchards so that Israel can implement its plans to build and expand its illegal colonies on privately-owned Palestinian lands, southwest of Nablus.
The planned Israel constructions are part of a much larger colonialist plan, which aims at isolating the northern part of the occupied West Bank, from its central and southern parts.
“These violations and the constant assaults by the illegal colonists have been ongoing for many years, and significantly escalate during the olive harvest season,” the Ministry said, “They aim at creating new facts on the ground by building and expanding the colonies, constructed on occupied lands in direct violation of International Law and the Fourth Geneva Conventions.”
It also denounced the constant Israeli pretenses and justifications to these violations, as they aim at preventing the Palestinians from entering their orchards, prior to annexing them for its illegal colonialist activities.
“Our people should not need an Israeli permit to enter their own lands and orchards,” the Ministry said, “The Israeli measures violate International Law and all related treaties.”
It also said that the silence of the International Community, and some “human rights” groups, is shameful, especially amidst the escalating Israeli crimes and violations, and pointed out the fear of some countries to utter any criticism of Israel, which makes them unfit to even talk about achieving comprehensive peace and justice, or even about human rights.
In addition, the Ministry called on the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, to speed up the implementation of the international protection system to the Palestinians, subject to escalating violations by both Israeli soldiers and the colonialist settlers.

A group of around 30 masked Israeli settlers attacked Israeli and international human rights activists on Wednesday, beating them with crowbars while they were protecting Palestinian farmers trying to harvest olives in the village of Burin, in the West Bank.
Eighty year old Rabbi Moshe Yehudai told reporters that he “feared for his life” as he was beaten mercilessly on the head, arm and shoulders. He was one of five Israeli human rights activists who was beaten in the attack.
Yehudai was rushed to hospital with severe head injuries and a broken arm.
Yehudai is a member of Rabbis for Human Rights, a group made up of Israeli and international Rabbis and supporters that engage in human rights accompaniment in the West Bank, especially in areas known for Israeli settler violence.
According to local sources, more than 30 masked Israeli settlers came running into the olive grove where the harvest was going on, and began beating the Palestinian farmers, Israeli rabbis and international human rights activists.
While being treated for his injuries, Yehudai told reporters from the Times of Israel, “Suddenly, the settlers came with their faces [covered]. They started running at us, they surrounded me, threw rocks at me, hit me with crowbars, giving me a head injury. I told them I’m 80 years old. Leave me alone.”
But the settlers kept coming and beating him and the other activists and observers.
Israeli settlers frequently attack Palestinian farmers and civilians, including children. They are rarely arrested or held accountable for their crimes, since the area where they illegally live is under Israeli military occupation, and the Israeli military has no mandate to arrest settlers for criminal or violent acts.
The soldiers are only authorized to attack and abduct Palestinians, not the Israelis who are squatting illegally on Palestinian land.
Last week, a gang of Israeli settlers set fire to an olive grove, just as the Palestinian owners of the trees were preparing for the annual harvest — which provides the Palestinians with their main source of income. That arson resulted in the destruction of 70 olive trees.
According to Al-Araby News, more than 600,000 Israeli Jews live in settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, in housing developments that are considered illegal under international law.
The Oslo agreement of 1995 divided the occupied West Bank into three: Area A, Area B and Area C.
Area A is under the administrative and security control of the Palestinian Authority (PA); Area B’s administration is controlled by the PA, with Israel controlling security; Area C is under full administrative and security control of Israel.
Along with stealing land, occupying Israeli forces and settlers are known to harass civilians, demolish Palestinian homes, poison livestock, vandalise property and other forms of violence.

The villagers in those areas are subject to constant assaults and violations by the soldiers and the illegal fanatic colonists.
Such attacks always witness a sharp escalation by the illegal colonists during the olive harvest season.

Israeli forces assaulted protesters who gathered at a number of points along the Gaza-Israel border on Friday for the 79th weekly ‘March of Return’ calling for a return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland and an end to the Israeli siege of Gaza.
At least 31 of those injured on Friday were hit by live ammunition fired by Israeli snipers stationed in military observation towers on the Gaza-Israel border.
The rest were hit by rubber-coated steel bullets, tear gas canisters, or suffered from severe tear gas inhalation.
According to the Palestinian Wafa News Agency, Israeli soldiers positioned in military towers and behind earth mounds along the eastern fence fired live bullets, rubber-coated metal bullets, and tear gas canisters at Palestinian civilians, who had flocked to the five communities where the events took place.
In addition, Israeli naval forces opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats near the al-Sudaniya area northwest of Gaza City, despite the fact that they were within the 6 mile zone allowed by the Israeli military (previously the zone was 20 miles).
The fishers were forced to abandon their boats and swim to shore, according to local sources. But no injuries were reported.

Several illegal Israeli colonialist settlers and soldiers attacked, Friday, dozens of Palestinian farmers while trying to enter their own orchards to pick their olive trees in the ash-Shu’ab area, between the villages of Burqa and Beitin, northeast of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.
The head of Burqa Village Council, Adnan Barakat, told the WAFA Palestinian News Agency that around sixteen colonists invaded the Palestinian orchards, and started assaulting them while forcing them out of their lands.
He added that the Israel soldiers were present during the attack, and fired many gas bombs at the Palestinians, causing four to suffer the severe effects of teargas inhalation before they were moved to a local clinic.
On Tuesday, the armed colonists attacked the Palestinians in the same area, and stoke their olive harvest, while the soldiers stood and watched.

Israeli gunboats on Thursday morning attacked Palestinian fishermen and their boats with live ammunition and water cannons.
Media sources said that Israeli naval forces fired live bullets and blasted water from cannons at fishing boats during their presence within three nautical miles off the shore of al-Sudaniya area in the northwest of Gaza City.
Luckily, no one of the fishermen was hurt in the attack, which only caused damage to some boats
Israeli gunboats are around Gaza fishermen almost every day, harassing them, shooting at them, damaging their boats, and making arrests. Sometimes fishermen are injured or killed during gunfire attacks.
Under the 1993 Oslo accords, Palestinian fishermen are permitted to fish up to 20 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza, but since then Israel has kept reducing the fishing area gradually to a limit of three nautical miles as part of its blockade on Gaza.
Fishermen and human rights groups also say that since the 2008-09 war in Gaza, the Israeli army has been regularly enforcing a limit even closer to the shore.
