Abu Marzouk: Israel trying to foil Palestinian-Egyptian relations
Dr. Moussa Abu Marzouk, deputy head of Hamas's political bureau, met a delegation of Egyptian Revolution's Initiative for Palestinian Reconciliation and Revolution Youth Coalition, to discuss issues related to Palestinian reconciliation and media accusations against Hamas.
Dr. Moussa Abu Marzouk welcomed the members of the Revolution Youth Coalition and the initiative, hailing Egypt's important role in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
He stressed during the meeting on Thursday his movement's commitment to achieve reconciliation and to end division, in accordance with Palestinian constants.
Regarding the media accusations against Hamas, Abu Marzouk said that Israel has been publishing these tendentious rumors in order to create an imbalance and to drive wedges between Egyptian and Palestinian peoples.
He has also expressed his rejection to file lawsuits against any Egyptian media outlet, saying: "Our priorities lie in the liberation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."
The Hamas leader denounced the attempts to distort his movement's image and to drag it in the Egyptian internal situation, and stressed that Hamas appreciates the support offered by Egypt with all its different forces and movements to the Palestinian cause and resistance.
For his part, Ayman Amer, coordinator of the 25 January Revolution Youth Coalition and general coordinator of Egyptian Revolution's Initiative for Palestinian Reconciliation, called on Abu Marzouk to hold a meeting with Azzam al-Ahmad, the head of the Fatah delegation to the reconciliation file.
Amer criticized the offensive campaign waged against Hamas and accusing it of being involved in the Rafah incident without evidence, pointing out that this aims to affect the relationship between the two peoples.
He also stressed that "the Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip are the eastern gate for the Egyptian national security", asserting that the Israeli Mossad is the one behind the incident in order to drive a wedge between the two peoples for the benefit of the occupation.
Osama Ezz El Arab, coordinator of the Revolutionary Front for the Protection of the Revolution and the political coordinator of the Initiative for Palestinian Reconciliation, has rejected the offences leveled against the Palestinian people and spreading rumors and false accusations against the Islamic resistance group Hamas.
The Egyptian poet Sayed Darwish, coordinator of Artists for Jerusalem, has also announced solidarity with the Palestinian resistance project against the Israeli-American orchestrated media attack.

Abu Marzouk denies arranging meeting between Meshaal and Sisi
Dr. Moussa Abu Marzouk, deputy head of the political bureau of Hamas, has strongly denied published news claiming that the movement has demanded to meet with Egyptian Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Abu Marzouk told PIC: "This is not true.
There are no arrangements or requests for holding meetings between Hamas delegation, headed by Khaled Meshaal, and Defense Minister Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi."
He stressed that Hamas meets only with the officials who have relation with the Palestinian file.
Concerning the reasons behind the publication of such reports, the Hamas leader said: "These news represent a continuation for the media campaign waged against Hamas, and the source of which is often the Israeli press or intelligence sites."
He pointed out that this campaign aims to drag Hamas in the case of Rafah and in other issues such as the constant talk about the tunnels.
Deputy Head of Hamas's Political Bureau confirmed that his movement has been cooperating with the Egyptian security apparatuses to reach the reality of things, "We always provide the information we collect to the Egyptian side without delay, and just like the Egyptian side we were surprised by the Rafah events and the killing of the Egyptian soldiers."
He added that Israeli aircraft hastened to bomb the car which carried the assailants [who killed the Egyptian soldiers] with incendiary bombs to erase the identity of those assailants.

Hijazi to Gaza people: Do not listen to media lies about Hamas
Secretary-general of the Egyptian revolution's board of trustees Safwat Hijazi called on the Palestinian people not to listen to the lies propagated by some media outlets about Hamas and its armed wing Al-Qassam Brigades.
In a conference held on Sunday by the Islamic bloc in Gaza, Hijazi said that accusing Hamas of killing the Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai last Ramadan are a smear campaign led by Pharoah's magicians and notorious fomenters.
He affirmed that the Egyptian street does not believe such accusations because the Egyptian and Palestinian blood had mingled with each other and cannot be separated until the end of time.
He also stated that there could never be peace or settlement with the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian land would be restored by force, even if the whole world supported the occupation.
For his part, Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya expressed his dismay at the lies fabricated by some news agencies in Egypt about Hamas, stressing that Gaza would always be a guardian of Egypt's security and stability.
Premier Haneyya stated that his government follows up with its Egyptian counterpart all security issues and delegate competent security officials to Cairo to discuss issues of mutual interest.
Abu Marzouk denounces the Egyptian media campaign against Hamas
Deputy head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Moussa Abu Marzouk, strongly condemned the continued campaign of lies waged by some Egyptian newspapers and media against Hamas movement. They are false accusations which were denied by the spokesman for the Egyptian army and the Egyptian presidency and General Intelligence, Abu Marzouk told PIC.
Concerning the current visit of Hamas politburo chief to Cairo, he denied any relation between Khaled Meshaal's visit and the media campaign against the movement in Egypt, saying that it was planned before the Al-Ahram Arabi's fabricated report.
He stated that the Qassam Brigades have never targeted any of its enemies outside the Palestinian territories, although many of its leaders were assassinated in foreign countries, naming Mabhouh in Dubai and Azzedine Sheikh Khalil in Damascus.
We restricted our battle and resistance against our enemy inside our country, and we never think of transfering the battle with the occupier to another arena, so how could we think of targeting our brothers in Egypt?, Abu Marzouk rhetorically questioned.
He confirmed that that what was published by Egyptian media was mostly collected from the Israeli media and some of the Israeli websites, adding that part of it was leaked from Gulf sources presented by Palestinian sources and other Western newspapers.
Abu Marzouk called on media and journalists, specifically in Egypt, to investigate the information before publishing it, and not to interject Hamas and Palestinian resistance within the Egyptian internal political conflict.
Ayman Nofel was amongst the mentioned names in the Egyptian newspaper's report, where he was detained in Egyptian jails without charge despite the court decision to release him. During the revolution, the Egyptian jails were opened after superior orders from the former regime in order to create a state of havoc, according to Habib al-Adly's confessions, where Nofel went out of the jail like thousands of Egyptian prisoners, Abu Marzouk explained.
He denied that Nofel is wanted by the Egyptian security, stressing that no Egyptian party has called to hand him over neither during the Military Council rule nor at the present time because he has no charges against him.
He confirmed that contacts between the movement and the Egyptian Intelligence still continued before and after Sinai incident, insisting that the Egyptian security is as important as the Palestinian security.
Abu Marzouk stressed that Hamas movement did not intervene in the Egyptian internal affairs or the affairs of any other Arab or non-Arab country, insisting that the Palestinian battle against the occupier was and still is inside the Palestinian territories.
The Palestinian people is under occupation and need for the efforts of the free world and all the Egyptian political, social, and religious forces, he added.
Abu Marzouk stated that there are members of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah leaking incorrect information as part of the war against Hamas in attempts to discredit the Palestinian resistance.
He called on the Egyptian newspapers and TV channels to investigate the truth and not to distort the Palestinian cause and resistance, emphasizing that the three mentioned names are wanted to the Israeli enemy since 15 years.

Rizqa calls on Egyptian media to correct its compass
Youssef Rizqa, Political Adviser to the Palestinian Prime Minister, called on the Egyptian media to correct the compass toward Gaza and the Palestinian resistance through revealing the truth.
The Gaza government has stressed several times that what was published in the Egyptian media concerning the resistance's involvement in acts of sabotage in Egypt is only lies fabricated by certain media and then published as unreliable sources, Rizqa said during an interview with the PIC reporter on Saturday.
He drew attention that the government denied all false news, adding that it is going to launch a relations campaign with media owners to clarify the truth.
The Egyptian media have launched a campaign against Hamas, accusing it of responsibility for killing 16 Egyptian soldiers in Rafah last August, where Hamas denied the news, considering it an attempt to drive a wedge between Hamas and the Palestinian people on the one hand and the Egyptian people and army on the other.
Rizqa praised Qassam Brigades' position to sue the editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram Al-Arabi magazine who published these allegations.
He confirmed that all these alleged news reports target the resistance only serve the Israeli enemy, stressing that Hamas and Gaza government do not interfere in the internal affairs of foreign countries.
He praised the position of head of the Egyptian Wafd Party Mr. Badawi who apologized to Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh for the media campaign against Hamas.
Rizqa called on the National Salvation Front to adopt Wafd Party's position and to correct the compass.
Meanwhile, Riyad al-Ashqar, a researcher at the Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies, expressed his surprise towards the Egyptian media campaign against Hamas and the Gaza Strip, while not mentioning the Egyptian prisoners of war jailed Israeli prisons under harsh conditions since long years.
He called on the Egyptian media to wage a campaign against the Israeli authorities that detain Egyptian prisoners in difficult and inhuman conditions and to call for their release, stressing that “Israel” which is the first enemy of the Arabs and the Egyptian people in particular.
"The Egyptian people have suffered from the Israeli aggression for many years before liberating Egypt through resistance and steadfastness," he stated.
He called on the Egyptian media to pressure international institutions in order to seek the release of the Egyptian prisoners instead of engaging in incitement and disinformation against the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza and Hamas movement.
Ashqar also called on Egyptian media to activate the Egyptian prisoners' issue in Israeli jails, especially the sick detainees topped by Atef Qudaih who suffers from kidney failure and requires daily dialysis.
These suspicious parties that stand behind these false news aim to drive a wedge between Hamas and the Egyptian government and people.
For his part, Abdel Sattar Qassem, a professor of political science at An-Najah National University in Nablus, stated that some Palestinian parties are involved in the Egyptian media attack against Hamas movement in order to tighten the screws on the Gaza Strip.
Qassem told Quds Press that the Egyptian media campaign against Hamas movement seeks to mobilize the Egyptian opposition against Hamas and the Palestinian resistance in Gaza in order to tighten the security measures on Sinai to prevent Hamas from improving its military power.

Egypt wary of scheme to assassinate Hamas leaders on its territory
Well informed Egyptian security sources have warned of a scheme to assassinate Hamas leaders on Egyptian soil in a bid to escalate tension between Egypt and Hamas.
The sources, who would not reveal their identity, told Quds Press on Saturday that Egyptian security agencies summoned a number of former PA security agents currently residing in Cairo over the past few weeks.
They explained that those agents were suspected of monitoring a number of Hamas leaders.
The sources said that Cairo would not accept any attempt to fuel tensions further in Egypt, but would not divulge the party masterminding such a scheme.

Qassam: Palestinian resistance serves to protect Egyptian national security
Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, denied being involved in killing Egyptian soldiers in Sinai last August, and said it will sue the editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram Al-Arabi magazine who published these allegations.
Abu Obeida, spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, stressed in a press conference on Thursday evening that the Egyptian media publishes lies and false allegations, in an attempt to drag Hamas and its brigades into the Egyptian internal issues.
He said that the editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram Al-Arabi magazine has accused a number of the al-Qassam leaders of killing Egyptian soldiers based on the alleged results of fake investigations.
Abu Obeida added that the resistance maintained strong relations with both the Egyptian leadership and the people after the revolution. “The Egyptian people know quite well who the al-Qassam Brigades and Gaza resistance are. The people support the resistance and some do not like that, so they started to fabricate accusations.”
“Those writers should have prioritized siding with the Palestinian people and the nation which considers the Palestinian cause its central issue.
The Qassam Brigades spokesman hailed Egypt for its great support to the resistance and the Palestinian people, stressing that the Brigades will never stop resisting the occupation.
In his reply to reporters' questions about the involvement of the leaders in the PA security in the promotion of these news reports Abu Obeida confirmed that he does not rule it out, but he does not have precise information.
He considered that the occupation is the first to benefit from driving a wedge between the Palestinian resistance factions and Egypt.
Asked about Israeli forces’ ongoing breaches of the ceasefire in Gaza, Abu Obeida said: “That does not serve Israel’s interests as the Gaza resistance will not tolerate that too long.”
For his part; Izzat al-Risheq, member of Hamas movement politburo, said that accusing Hamas of targeting the Egyptian security, of being involved in the crime of killing Egyptian soldiers in Rafah or of sending fighters to Egypt to support the president, by some Egyptian media outlets, "are all fabrications and lies."
Risheq said in statements on Thursday that these false accusations have been published by some bodies that want to destabilize and create chaos in the Hamas ruled Gaza Strip.

Abu Marzouk slams Al-Ahram newspaper as Israel's mouthpiece
Deputy head of Hamas's political bureau Moussa Abu Marzouk strongly denounced Al-Ahram Al-Arabi newspaper for accusing senior officials from the Movement of being responsible for the killing of 16 Egyptian soldiers six months ago.
In a press statement to Quds Press, Abu Marzouk condemned what was reported recently by MBC Egypt about new accusations made by Al-Ahram newspaper in this regard, describing the newspaper as "Israel's mouthpiece."
"This newspaper is all the time trying to drive a wedge between the Palestinian and Egyptian peoples by fabricating such lies," Abu Marzouk said.
"These allegations are unfounded and such lies cannot be believed because Hamas have never targeted its enemy 'Israel' outside the Palestinian borders, so how would it be possible for it to target Egyptian soldiers outside its lands and to act militarily within the territory of beloved Egypt?, he stated.
The Hamas official affirmed that the Egyptian army did not accuse Hamas at all of being behind the incident, denying the newspaper's claims that Hamas figures were interrogated and that the Egyptian presidency received a report in this regard.
Bardawil calls for probe into PA forged letter sent to Egypt
Senior Hamas official Salah Al-Bardawil called on Mahmoud Abbas to investigate the involvement of some security apparatuses under his command in sending a fake document to the Egyptian media aimed at driving a wedge between Hamas and Egypt. In a press release, Bardawil affirmed that his Movement obtained a bogus document addressed by a Palestinian authority security agency to some Egyptian media outlets fabricating lies about the armed wing of Hamas Al-Qassam Brigades.
"We have a clear-cut forged document which the PA security in Ramallah has sent to some Egyptian media outlets, which in turn dealt with it extensively within an agenda targeting Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood," the Hamas official asserted.
"This letter went beyond the internal differences with the Hamas Movement because it worsens the Palestinian people's relations with Egypt and does not even serve partisan purposes," he stated.
"This forged document has exceeded the partisan machinations against Hamas and become a conspiracy against the Palestinian people, especially since it coincides with a similar Zionist smear campaign, which indicates that this dirty work is a Zionist intelligence intrigue," the official emphasized.

Hamas affirmed on Monday that the media campaign of rumors and insults would not succeed in distorting the relationship between Hamas and Egypt.
Describing such a relationship as deep and historic, Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, charged, in a statement to Quds Press, that Palestinian, Egyptian, Arab, and international parties were involved in this smear campaign.
He asked the Egyptian, Arab, and international media outlets to take news from the original sources and not to parrot media fabrications.
He regretted that a number of honest Egyptian media outlets had swum with the tide and published such fabrications, which he vehemently denied and affirmed that they would not affect the status of Hamas.
The spokesman renewed assertion that Hamas did not and would not interfere in any internal affair of any Arab country. “We would like to affirm that we are not involved in any internal Egyptian affair as we never were before involved in any internal Arab affair,” Abu Zuhri underlined.
He said that his movement was not preparing a counter media campaign, adding, “We could not care less about such (hostile) campaigns and we are confident that they would not besmirch the image of Hamas”.
Abu Zuhri said that Hamas is content with clarifying facts, pointing to his visit to Cairo last week where he was interviewed by a number of TV stations of various trends and explained his movement’s positions and refuted those rumors.

Samira Ibrahim denied State Department award for "anti-Semitic" tweets
The Obama administration is postponing the International Women of Courage Award for Egyptian activist Samira Ibrahim because of tweets discovered on her Twitter account.
The U.S State Department announced earlier this week that Samira Ibrahim would be among 10 recipients of the International Women of Courage Award presented by Secretary of State John Kerry and U.S First Lady Michelle Obama.
The State Department decided on Friday to hold off on awarding the Egyptian human rights activist because of tweets published on her Twitter account over the past months and described as "anti-U.S." and "support violence against Jews".
An American weekly newspaper had earlier published a report entitled "Michelle Obama and John Kerry to Honor Anti-Semite", after tweet on Ibrahim's Twitter account had welcomed the news about a bombing in Bulgaria that killed five Israelis last July.
In other posts, Samira Ibrahim disseminated Hitler's quote saying that "I have discovered with the passage of days, that no act contrary to morality, no crime against society takes place, except with the Jews having a hand in it."
Ibrahim is one of the real leaders in her country in trying to address gender-based violence and other human rights abuses.
