Several Palestinian civilians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday in a mass abduction sweep launched across the West Bank.
Ex-prisoners Ribhi Khazana, Ibrahim Nasser Hamad, and Malek Hamed, along with citizen Tayseer Maher Shaker and Luay Fares, a nurse, were kidnapped by the IOF from Ramallah’s town of Silwad.
Another Palestinian civilian, identified as Jihad Nidhal Alyan, was kidnapped by the IOF from Al-Jalazoun camp, in Ramallah.
The campaign also targeted Mootaz and Abdul Fatah Nayef Muslameh from Al-Khalil’s town of Beit Awa.
The occupation troops further kidnapped Hani Maher Kayed and Malek Midhat Kayed from Sebastiya, in Nablus.
At predawn time, over seven IOF jeeps rolled into Merka town, in southern Jenin, and cordoned off residential alleys before they closed off the main entrance to the town for hours.
The IOF sealed off the Merka-Qabatiya access-road and the Jenin-Nablus thoroughfare with two military checkpoints, blocking Palestinians’ movement inside and out.
The IOF wreaked havoc on civilian homes in Merka’s outer edges and subjected the inhabitants to intensive questioning, before they backtracked on the daybreak.
Overnight, the Israeli military forces also stormed Qalqilya’s eastern town of Azzoun, in the northern West Bank, and showered the area with sound bombs and stun grenades. Fire broke out across olive groves as a result. Civil defense crews showed up at the scene and put out the fire.
The IOF rummaged into the home of Nassar Mohamed Nassar in the town and cracked down on the family members before they locked them up in one room and ravaged the house.
The occupation troops reportedly closed off all access roads out of and into the camp, resulting in traffic jam.

Israeli settler gangs set fire to a Palestinian home in Nablus at predawn time on Monday at the same time as several Palestinians were kidnapped by the occupation army from West Bank provinces.
A PIC news correspondent said Israeli extremist settlers set fire to a Palestinian home under construction in Nablus’s southern town of Burin.
Civil defense crews said they received reports of wildfires at 11:53 p.m. and rushed to the scene to put out the fire.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian youngster Maraseel al-Sawalhi was kidnapped by the Israeli occupation soldiers from his family home in al-Ein refugee camp, to the west of Nablus.
The occupation army has sealed off the main entrances to Odla, Ourata, and Beita towns, in southern Nablus.
At the same time, an Israeli military force rolled into the northern occupied West Bank province of Jenin and raked through residential neighborhoods in Yabad town, to the south.

Israeli soldiers shot and injured, on Thursday at dawn, a young Palestinian man, and kidnapped at least one, after the army and settlers invaded the eastern area of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources in Nablus said fourteen Israeli buses, and many army vehicles invaded the city, and headed towards Joseph’s Tomb, east of Nablus.
Clashes took place between the soldiers and many local youngsters, who hurled stones and empty bottles at the invading vehicles, while the soldiers fired life rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades.
One Palestinian was shot with an exploding bullet in his leg, and was moved to a hospital in Nablus, suffering a moderate injury, while many others suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.
The soldiers also kidnapped another Palestinian, and took him to an unknown destination.
Also, a large number of wood boards were burnt after a number of Israeli gas bombs, and concussion grenades, were fired into a carpentry workshop.
The clashes were mainly focused in the al-Hisba Street area, Amman Street, and the northern entrance of Balata refugee camp, where many youngster burnt tires and hurled empty bottles and Molotov cocktails at the military vehicles.
Firefighters rushed to the area and extinguished the fire before its spread into a larger area.

Israeli soldiers shot and killed, on Tuesday morning, a Palestinian child at the Wad Al-Jouz Junction, near Bani Neim town, east of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
The soldiers prevented Palestinian medics from approaching the child, and he bled to death; the Israeli army claimed the child “attempted to stab a soldier.”
The Palestinian child has been identified as Issa Salem Mahmoud Tarayra, 16; he was killed at a military roadblock installed by the army on the main road leading to Bani Neim.
The army claimed that Tarayra approached the military roadblock “with the intent to carry out a stabbing attack, but the soldiers neutralized him.”
An eyewitness said that Tarayra was on his way to Hebron city, and stepped out of a car he was riding after the soldiers stopped dozens of Palestinian cars, and walked towards the soldiers in an attempt to cross on foot, but one of them opened fire towards him and killed him.
The soldiers closed the entire area, declared it a closed military zone, and installed additional roadblocks.
In addition, the army prevented Red Crescent medics, who rushed to the scene after the shooting, from approaching the child to provide him with the desperately needed medical aid, and he died of his wounds.
On Monday evening, a number of fanatic Israeli colonists hurled firebombs at a home belonging to resident Nidal al-‘Oweiwy, in Hebron city, but the family noticed the attack fast and managed to contain the fire before it spread.
Nidal said the assailants came from Abraham Abino Israeli colonialist outpost, that was established on illegally confiscated Palestinian property, right next to his home.

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Saturday evening, the town of al-‘Ezariyya, east of occupied East Jerusalem, and fired many gas bombs, causing scores of Palestinians to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, in addition to burning a clothing store.
Medical sources said dozens of Palestinians, including many children, suffered the effects of teargas inhalation, especially after the gas bombs struck many homes and stores.
Palestinian medics rushed to the town, and provided the needed aid to the wounded Palestinians.
In addition, a women’s clothing store was burnt after being struck by a number of gas bombs and concussion grenades.
Store owner Wisam Emtour said the clothes, and store contents were burnt, costing him a very serious financial loss.
He added that the soldiers deliberately targeted his store and many nearby shops, although they were filled with customers, an issue that led to dozens of injuries due to smoke and gas inhalation.
Many residents rushed to extinguish the fire, before Palestinian fighters arrived at the scene and controlled it.

Israeli undercover units kidnapped on Tuesday afternoon a Palestinian youngster from al-Khalil’s northwestern town of Surif.
Reporting from the abduction scene, a PIC news correspondent said an Israeli undercover patrol stormed Surif town and held a gun to youngster Ayman Hmeidat’s head before they dragged him to their car.
A few days ago, Hmeidat’s brother was kidnapped by the occupation soldiers from his family home in Surif.
At the same time, four Israeli army troops rolled into Beit Dajan’s western corners, to the east of Nablus city, and raked through the area, before they headed for the Beit Furik checkpoint.
Meanwhile, Israeli extremist settlers set fire to a residential quarter in Beit Dajan before civil defense crews rushed to the scene and put out the fire.
