The Palestinian Ministry of Detainees and Ex-detainees announced launching the biggest national campaign of tweeting for the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
The campaign will be concurrently launched with the Palestinian Prisoner Day which marks April 17 under the hashtag #PalestinianPrisonerDay.
The Ministry’s Undersecretary Bahaeddin al-Madhoun said, in a statement on Tuesday, the campaign will be lunched on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from inside the Ministry headquarters in Gaza city.
He added that many social media activists will participate in the campaign, stressing that it aims at emphasizing the suffering of the Palestinian detainees. It also looks forward to convey their message to the outside world in order to guarantee a large-scale participation and interaction with the issue of the captives.
The activity will not be confined to just one day. It will continue along with the activities of the Palestinian Prisoner Day, he said.
Madhoun pointed out that many ex-detainees along with prisoners’ families will be hosted to talk directly about their experiences inside Israeli jails along with the most significant violations they had been exposed to. The campaign also will discuss the role and duty toward the Palestinian prisoners.
Madhoun called on all the concerned with the issue and the social media activists to interact with this great national event.

The Israeli authorities released on Wednesday three Jerusalemites after paying a bail.
Hadi al-Ajlouni, 17, was among the three released detainees after being arrested last week on suspicion of planning an attack on Israelis as he wrote "forgive me" on Facebook!
Al-Ajlouni was released after paying a fine of 1,000 shekels and was sentenced to seven days under house arrest. He was also banned from Al-Aqsa Mosque for a whole month.
The Israeli police also released the member of reconstruction committee in al-Aqsa Mosque Husam Sider after being detained on Monday.
Along the same line, the lecturer at Al-Quds University Dr. Samir Shuqayr was released on a bail of 2,000 shekels under the pretext of putting waste and dust in his house garden.
Meanwhile in another context, hundreds of students visited Wednesday al-Aqsa Mosque as part of Iqraa association’s solidarity campaign with the holy shrine and displaced villages.
The students toured the yards of al-Aqsa Mosque accompanied by a number of guides who provided them with detailed explanations about the landmarks and history of the holy shrine.
They also visited the Jerusalemite women who are daily stationed at Silsila gate after being denied from having access into the Mosque’s plazas.
Such visits aim at strengthening links with al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the students said.

Hackers fail to bring down government websites, but successfully target sites belonging to musicians, organization for excellence in education and association of urologists.
Dozens of websites were brought down over night by pro-Palestinian hackers, as Anonymous engaged in its now annual attack on the Israeli internet. Major government websites were targeted but were not brought down, including the sites for the Knesset, Education Ministry and the government portal.
Most hacking attempts come in the form of a denial of service attack, in which a website is inundated with requests for access, to the point that the site's servers cannot cope and the site either functions extremely slowly or collapses altogether.
Despite the largely failed attempt to bring down government websites, numerous private sites were brought down Tuesday, with many displaying the phrase "Hacked by Anonghost". Among those hacked were the official sites for singers Shalom Hanoch and Ivri Lider, popular band Hadag Nachash, the Israeli Center for Excellence through Education, the Israeli Urological Association and others.
In addition, hackers claimed to have also accessed a number of email accounts, and published the list of compromised sites and emails. They also claimed to have hacked the website of the court system, but that was working normally by Tuesday morning.
The annual attack on Israeli websites, or "#OpIsrael", is carried out by those identifying as Anonghost or Anonymous. The stated goal is to repay various groups and bodies in Israel for the country's treatment of the Palestinians, by causing inconvenience and discomfort for Israeli citizens, which it says Israel does to the Palestinians.
"As we did many times, we will take down your servers, government websites, Israeli military websites, and Israeli institutions," said a video message released recently, warning of the impending attacks. "We will erase you from cyberspace in our Electronic Holocaust."

Every few months or so, hackers threaten to launch cyber attacks on Israeli sites. In many cases, hackers fail to carry out the attack, or cause minimal and temporary damage. In some cases, lists of Israeli user names and passwords for email and social media sites are distributed online, in order to scare Israeli internet users, but often they are old passwords. On April 7 last year, there was a small-scale cyber attack on Israel, but with no significant victims.

The Israeli government is cautiously anticipating a spate of intended cyberattacks to be launched by the hacking group "Anonymous" against its websites on Monday or Tuesday, according to Israel Hayom newspaper.
The newspaper stated that the Israeli anti-defamation league had published warnings against the upcoming cyberattacks, describing them as aimed at defacing websites with anti-Israeli messages, penetrating personal accounts and knocking websites offline.
The league pointed out that a number of Israeli websites on Saturday had come under cyberattacks by a group of hackers it labelled as "anti-Semites."
The hacking group Anonymous had released a video recorded message threatening the Israeli occupation with an "electronic Holocaust" on April 7.
"Greetings World, we are Anonymous. This is a message to the foolish Zionist entities. We are coming back to punish you again for your crimes in the Palestinian territories as we do every year on 7 April," Anonymous said.

A hacking group has threatened to launch a new spate of cyber-attacks on Israel next month in retaliation to its crimes against the Palestinian people.
According to Yisrael HaYom newspaper, an offshoot of the "Anonymous" hacking group calling itself "AnonGhost" threatened to subject Israel to an "electronic holocaust" on the seventh of April.
"Greetings World, we are Anonymous, this is a message to the foolish Zionist entity, we are coming back to punish you again for your crimes in the Palestinian territories, as we do every year on 7 April, all we see is continuous aggression, bombing, killing and kidnapping of the Palestinian people," the group stated in a recording posted on YouTube website.
AnonGhost had launched cyber-attacks against Israeli targets for the past seven years, each time on April 7. However, the offensive it is preparing this time is expected to be more damaging.
Its hackers will target personal accounts, banks and websites, including ones belonging to the Israeli government and its army.

"To all the employees who are not receiving their salaries, to all Palestinians whose houses were destroyed, to those who were killed in Khuza'a, al-Zana, Beit Hanoun and al-Shejaiya, lets launch the popular campaign to close the crossings to prevent al-Hamdallah from leaving Gaza."
This call was launched on Wednesday March 25 by social media activists who created a hashtag under the name #No_Leaving_without_Solutions, pointing to the visit of the Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah to the Gaza Strip.
The youth movement aims to pressure the officials into achieving the Palestinian reconciliation and solve the growing problems. The movement organized a sit-in for tomorrow at 10 am in front of the cabinet headquarters in Gaza.
Questions
Wael Abu Omar posted on his Facebook page: "What if Rami al-Hamdallah and his accompanying delegation are prevented from leaving the Strip unless they solve the issues that have been pending for nine months?"
Muhannad al-Haddad commented on the photo of a Gazan policeman giving the military salute to al-Hamadallah when the latter arrived in Gaza: "This is so unjust; lining up to welcome the person who cut their livelihoods!"
Khalid al-Jish expressed his suffering saying: "Gaza experienced three consecutive wars claiming the lives of thousands, razing thousands of buildings to the ground and wounding thousands of innocent Palestinians, Gaza is living without electricity, without shelters to those whose houses were destroyed, the employees are not being paid, the crossings are closed, no job opportunities, no raw materials and no money, in other words, we live in a big prison".
Unlike the previous opinions, Bilal Awadallah sees that the government must leave, he said: "If you can't provide us with a decent life, then leave us alone, we should be focusing on how to get rid of our enemy instead of thinking how to sustain our families".
In his second visit to Gaza since becoming a prime minister, Rami al-Hamdallah arrived at noon Wednesday in the Strip accompanied by a ministerial delegation to discuss the issues and the crises of the Strip, most importantly the overdue salaries and the crossings.
The union committee for the defense of the rights of employees stressed that the success of al-Hamadalla's visit is contingent on the seriousness of solving the pending issues.
The committee's spokesman, Khalil al-Zayan, said in a press statement on Wednesday evening: "We are in dire need to focus on the major issues and we support and appreciate all the efforts aimed at solving the employees' problems".
He stressed: "Dr. Rami al-Hamadallah has to prove that he came to Gaza in order to take practical and bold steps to restore the employees' legitimate rights without discrimination."
Khalil al-Zayan asked the Prime Minister to announce a specific date to combine all civil and military employees, pay them salaries on permanent basis, and set a specific time frame to solve all the crises in the Strip.
He declared: "Until then, we will continue carrying out sit-ins and protest steps."
For the ninth month in a row, the unity government is still discriminately refusing to pay the salaries of the employees hired by the former government in Gaza. Hamas irregularly provides them with financial assistance.
In a related context, Hamas demanded the Palestinian unity government headed by Rami al-Hamdallah to take practical steps in order to put an end to its discrimination policy against Gaza.
Spokesman for Hamas Sami Abu Zuhri said in a statement on Wednesday: "So far, the unity government has failed to be a government for all Palestinians, and it must take tangible measures to atone for this sin."

Hamas media coordinator Taher al-Nunu announced the end of the weeklong interactive e-campaign launched by Hamas last Friday on social media under the hashtag #AskHamas.
Nunu, in a press release on Facebook Tuesday, said that Hamas addressed the campaign to the western communities so that they could hear directly from Hamas leaders and to know its true positions.
Nunu expressed his Movement’s thanks and gratitude to those who interacted with the campaign by raising questions and sending solidarity comments on social media networks which reflected the extent of international solidarity with the Palestinian cause despite the Israeli attempts to foil the campaign.
Nunu said Hamas promises the world to maintain more communication via all available means.
Meanwhile, Hebrew media agencies claimed that the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, had announced that #AskHamas hashtag in Hebrew would be available for the next 24 hours in order to receive and respond to Israelis’ questions.
However, both Hamas and its armed wing did not confirm the news, which spread out among Hebrew Tweeter users and many questions have been raised on an anonymous Hebrew hashtag.

Senior Hamas leader Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk acclaimed on Monday the #AskHamas e-campaign, saying it marks a new shift in the East-West cross-cultural dialogues.
Abu Marzouk said in statements posted on his Facebook page that the #AskHamas hashtag marks a new phase in Western perception of the very identity of Hamas at the same time as it tosses out Israeli ad hominem crusades against the group. Earlier, Hamas has launched a weeklong interactive campaign starting Friday on social media under the hashtag #AskHamas, giving the group enough room to voice its true positions on a set of key causes in the hope of inducing Europe to rescind blacklisting of Hamas a terror group. |
Abu Ubaida has, meanwhile, responded to questions raised by western social media users regarding Hamas’s armed wing and resistance strategies.
For his part, Deputy Head of the group’s political bureau, Ismail Haneyya, Monday actively interacted with questions asked in the campaign.
Questions raised during the first and second days of the hashtag were answered respectively by female deputy Houda Na’im and ex-prisoner Rawhi Mushtaha.
Observers from different corners of the world unanimously applauded, in separate statements to the PIC, the campaign, branding it a real “hit.”

Deputy head of Hamas's political bureau Ismail Haneyya said that his Movement has good relations and contacts with all peoples, including in the West, asserting that "Hamas does not believe in extremism."
Haneyya made his remarks during his answer to questions raised by Twitter users on the hashtag page "#AskHamas," which was created by the Hamas Movement last Friday.
He stated that Hamas is a Palestinian liberation Movement resisting only the Israeli occupation and seeking to liberate its own land.
"We, in Hamas, are not against the just peace that guarantees the liberation of our land and the Palestinian rights," he said during a Twitter conversation.
The Hamas official also said that the political leadership in Egypt told his Movement that the court for urgent matter's terror ruling against it was non-binding on the government and would not affect the relations between the two sides.
During three hours, Haneyya was able to answer 160 questions made by Twitter users from the US, Europe, Latin America, and Arab and Muslim countries.
Hamas had launched last Friday a one-week Twitter campaign under the hashtag "#AskHamas" to defend itself against terror accusations and the Palestinian right to resist the occupation, and to reply to arguments and questions raised by participants.
