Northern city engulfed in heavy smoke as some 18 firefighting teams dispatched to area of warehouse holding 80 tons of oil to douse flames, prevent fire from spreading to nearby facilities

One fire-fighter was lightly injured when he sustained a burn on his leg. He was evacuated to a hospital.
Large containers of sunflower and olive oil are stored in the warehouse ahead of distillation and bottling.
The fire crews were operating throughout the plant in order to beat back the flames. Authorities said that efforts to douse the blazes would likely continue well into the evening hours.

Extremist Israeli settlers last night chopped down Palestinian-owned olive trees in Burin village, in the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, only days after they set fire to other trees in the same fields, reported Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors settlement activity.
He told WAFA that a number of settlers from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar sneaked into the land in the village during the night and started to cut down the trees.
He pointed out that the settlers were riding motorcycles in the area, part of which has been seized by the settlers and planted with grape vines.
Palestinians often complain that settlers’ vandalism of Palestinian property and attacks against the civilian population is rampant in the occupied West Bank and often done under the eyes of the Israeli army.
Several Palestinians were killed, some burnt alive, in attacks by settlers and hundreds of dunums of land planted with olive and other trees were torched and destroyed by the settlers without anyone being detained or tried for their actions.

Ehab al-Qet, a member of Madama Village Council, told the Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA), that the colonists attacked the southern area of the village, before local youngsters incepted them and started throwing stones at them.
He added that many soldiers were in the area with the colonists and started firing a barrage of gas bombs at the villagers, causing dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip has reported that Israeli soldiers injured, during the Great Return Procession in the Gaza Strip, Friday, 72 Palestinians, including 30 who were shot with live ammunition, in addition to a journalist and a medic, in various parts of the coastal region.
Thousands of Palestinians gathered along the eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, in Rafah and Khan Younis in southern Gaza, al-Boreij in central Gaza, Gaza city, in addition to Jabalia in northern Gaza.
Dozens of Israeli soldiers, including sharpshooters, were deployed across the perimeter fence in their fortified make-shift camps and sniper posts, and attacked the protesters with live rounds, high-velocity gas bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets, especially near Rafah and Khan Younis.

A group of illegal extremist Israeli colonialist settlers invaded, Friday, Erfa’eyya area east of Yatta town, east of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, burnt hay bales, and wrote racist graffiti, in addition to hurling stones at Palestinian cars in the area and surrounding communities.
Rateb Jabour, the media coordinator of the Popular and National Committees in southern West Bank, said the colonists infiltrated into the area and burnt many hay bales, owned by the residents.
He added that the Israeli assailants also hurled stones, and empty bottles, at many Palestinian cars east of Hebron city, and a nearby road.
The colonists also wrote racist anti-Palestinian graffiti on many walls in Yatta, before fleeing the area and heading to their nearby illegal colonies and outposts.
In related news, the soldiers abducted Morad Eshteiwi, the coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Annexation Wall and Colonies, in Kufur Qaddoum town, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, while crossing al-Karama Border Crossing between the West Bank and Jordan.

Israel Railways suspended the train line from Jerusalem to Ben-Gurion Airport as the fire spread near the tunnels, providing buses instead for travelers.
The firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading toward Route 1, the central highway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, but have yet to control the fire.
Due to the smoke and the use of flame retardants from a relatively low level, the highway was closed to traffic intermittently by police, and heavy traffic jams were reported in the area.
The fire comes a day after an extreme heatwave sent temperatures soaring into the 40s across much of the country, causing wildfires in multiple locations.

Israeli soldiers attacked, on Thursday afternoon, the solidarity tent in Wad al-Hummus area, in Sur Baher town, south of occupied Jerusalem, and forcibly demolished and removed it, in addition to firing many gas bombs and concussion grenades, casing dozens of Palestinians to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, and burning farmlands, the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan (Silwanic) has reported.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the firebombs caused several military vehicles to burst into flames in an army base near Atarot area in northern Jerusalem.
The arson attack caused considerable damage to the vehicles.

The Palestinians, accompanied by international peace activists, marched from the center of the village and headed towards the Annexation Wall, built on their lands in Abu Lemon area.
They carried Palestinian flags while chanting against the ongoing Israeli occupation and its colonies, and in condemnation of the so-called “Deal of the Century,” and the Manama Conference.”
The protesters also chanted for national unity, the Right of Return of the refugees, the release of all political prisoners, liberation and independence.
