Israeli soldiers detained, Saturday, a Palestinian man and his wife for several hours on their agricultural land in Khallet al-Katla area, in Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
The soldiers invaded the agricultural land, close to Karmie Tzur illegal colony, and detained Ali Ayyad Awad, 54, and his wife Amina Hamed Awad, 47.
The soldiers demanded the two to leave their land and told them they are not allowed to enter their land, or do any work “without a permit” from the Israeli side.
The couple refused to leave their land, and the soldiers threatened to abduct and imprison them if they stay.
They insisted on their right to stay and to continue their work, before the soldiers detained them, but later release them, and they resumed their work.
Farmers in areas close to illegal Israeli colonies in the occupied West Bank face constant harassment, assaults and violations by both soldiers and colonialist settlers, amidst dangerously increasing attempt to steal more land for the constriction and expansion of the colonies, built on occupied lands in direct violation of International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The Palestinian chamber of commerce in the West Bank province of Jenin has accused the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) of deliberately causing direct damage to the province’s economic activity during the holy month of Ramadan by not opening al-Jalamah crossing at night hours as usual.
In a statement, the chamber of commerce said that the IOA backtracked on its decision to allow the Palestinians living in Israel (the 1948 occupied lands) to enter the province during night hours and thus deprived Jenin of any chance during the holy month to boost its commercial and tourist position.
Head of the chamber Ammar Abu Baker stated that Israel’s night-time closure of the crossing is part of its systematic restrictions on the movement of Palestinian citizens and traders between Jenin and the 1948 occupied territory.
Abu Baker said that such measure would cause economic losses for the Palestinians, and deprive thousands of Palestinian families in Jenin and the 1948 occupied territory of earning their livelihood and networking with each other during the holy month.

Israeli bulldozers on Wednesday leveled vast tracts of Palestinian land in Bruqin town, west of Salfit.
Eyewitnesses said that the bulldozers, which belong to the Israeli authorities, leveled dozens of dunums of land in the area, without notifying their owners.
The sources affirmed that the razing operations came in preparation for developing infrastructure in Prokhin settlement.
