Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday destroyed a number of stalls belonging to Palestinian farmers near Beit Ummar town in al-Khalil.
Activist Mohammed Awad said that the IOF, after destroying the stalls, seized large quantities of fruits and vegetables.
A similar incident was witnessed about two weeks ago in another area in al-Khalil. The IOF soldiers claim such measures are taken for security reasons and that Palestinian farmers' stalls obstruct the movement of Israeli settlers.

Israeli soldiers demolished, on Wednesday morning, a slaughterhouse and two sheds in Barta’a Palestinian village, isolated by the illegal Annexation Wall, southwest of the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
Media sources in Jenin said the soldiers, and personnel of the “Licensing And Construction Department,” of the Civil Administration office in the occupied West Bank, invaded the area and demolished a Turkey slaughterhouse.
They added that the soldiers did not allow the owner, Anan Shafe’ey, to remove his equipment and belongings before demolishing the property.
The soldiers also demolished an under-construction shed, and a barn, owned by Mo’tasem Aziz Kabaha and Yahia Rateb Kabaha.
The Israeli army said the structures were not licensed by the Civil Administration Office, which runs Israel’s occupation of the West Bank.

Israeli forces surrounded the printing house before bulldozers began the demolition under the pretext that it was built without the nearly impossible-to-obtain Israeli building permit. The demolished printing house belonged to Palestinian resident, Omar Siyam, who confirmed that the facility was established over 15 years ago. Siyam noted that the municipality issued a demolition order against the building earlier this month, to which Siam and his lawyer responded by submitting an objection. However, the municipality did not respond to the objection nor deliver another demolition notice as a warning. |
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center, in the neighborhood, said that Israeli forces were deployed across Silwan preventing residents from movement, whether by foot or using a vehicle; they also sealed a main road.
Clashes erupted following the demolition, during which Israeli forces assaulted several Palestinian residents, among whom were girls, women, and elderly, by beating and pushing them.
The center added that Israeli forces showered residents with sound and tear-gas bombs, in addition to firing live ammunition and rubber-coated steel bullets.
Dr. Haitham Yaghmour, director of the Ein al-Luza Medical Center, confirmed that eight residents were injured; several of them suffered injuries by rubber-coated steel bullets, while others suffered from tear-gas inhalation.
Yaghmour pointed out that among the injured were three pregnant women, who were present at the medical center to receive checkups when Israeli forces broke in and raided the center.
All of the injured were later transferred to a hospital to receive medical treatment.
Yaghmour added that Israeli forces attacked medical teams who were providing first aid to the injured in the field; they suffered bruising.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday morning prevented Palestinian farmers from Kifl Hares village from entering their lands adjacent to Ariel settlement north of Salfit.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that the IOF soldiers arrested farmer Abdul-Karim Yousef while he was trying to enter his land.
According to the farmers of Kifl Hares, the IOF soldiers usually refuse to allow them to work in their lands until they obtain the necessary Israeli permits, which are rarely issued.
Anti-settlement researcher Khaled Ma'ali said that during the olive harvest season Palestinians are regularly turned around by the IOF, attacked by settlers, or only given a few days to harvest hundreds of olive trees.
Ma'ali noted that Israeli settlers sometimes take advantage of these entry bans imposed on Palestinian farmers and steal their crops or bulldoze their lands.

Two Palestinian fishermen were detained by Israeli naval forces on Sunday off the coast of the northern besieged Gaza Strip.
Nizar Ayyash, the boat captain, told Ma'an that Israeli naval forces detained two fishermen as they were working along the northern Gaza Strip coast and were taken to an unknown location.
The two detained fishermen were identified as Owrans al-Sultan and Hassan al-Sultan.
Ayyash added that Israeli naval forces also confiscated their fishing boat.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces opened fire towards Palestinian shepherds, north of Rafah district in southern Gaza. Reasons for the shooting remained unknown.
No injuries were reported among the shepherds.
The Israeli army regularly detains and opens fire at unarmed Palestinian fishermen, shepherds, and farmers along the border areas if they approach the unilaterally declared buffer zone.
The practice has in effect destroyed much of the agricultural and fishing sector of the blockaded coastal enclave, which has been under an Israeli air, land, and sea blockade for nearly 12 years.
Israeli human rights group B’Tselem recently concluded that Israel’s Gaza closure and “harassment of fishermen” have been “destroying Gaza’s fishing sector,” with 95 percent of fishermen living below the poverty line.
The Palestinian Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) issued its annual report for 2017 showing Israeli attacks against Palestinian fishermen in the besieged Gaza Strip, highlighting that “these attacks deny fishermen from practicing their fishing work and accessing their livelihood resources.”

The U.S. Administration of Donald Trump said it decided to cut $200 Million of the aid budget to the Palestinians, which was approved earlier this year.
Israeli daily Haaretz has reported that most of the money Trump is cutting was not meant for the Palestinian Authority, but was supposed to be used in supporting humanitarian and economic projects in the occupied territories.
Haaretz quoted a U.S. State Department official claiming that the decision is part of what he called challenges the International Community faces when it comes to providing the needed humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians in Gaza, because the coastal region is “controlled by Hamas, which is also endangering them, in addition to degrading the economic and humanitarian situation.”
It is worth mentioning that, out of the previously approved $250 Million in aid to the Palestinians for this fiscal year; the U.S. Administration only released dozens of millions to support the Palestinian Security Forces in the occupied West Bank.
The decision to cut $200 Million is part of what was also described as internal review by the Trump Administration, but now, the money will instead be transferred to other countries.
Trump has been claiming that, in return to the U.S. Embassy move to occupied Jerusalem, the Palestinians will “get something good,” and that it is “their turn to be receiving something.”
It is worth mentioning that the relations between Washington and the Palestinian Authority in the occupied West Bank, has been severed since Trump announced the transfer of the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, in direct violation of International Law.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) described the aid cut as a “cheep blackmail,” which is being used as a “political tool against the Palestinians.”
She slammed Trump and his Administration, describing them as bullies, especially since they are punishing the ordinary Palestinians, living under the illegal Israeli occupation.
Since March 30th, 2018, 171 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip, in addition to 18300 who were injured.
Most of the Palestinians were killed in non-violent protests, which began on March 30th, 2018, call for ending the 12-year-long Israeli blockade of Gaza and for the right of return of the refugees.
Many of the casualties occurred on May 14, when Israeli forces attacked Palestinian protesters marking the 70th anniversary of Israel’s occupation of historical Palestine and the ensuing ethnic cleansing of half a million Palestinian refugees.
It also marked the date that the Trump chose to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, thus denying the right to exist for the nearly one million Palestinian residents of Jerusalem.
