Israeli soldiers fired, Friday, dozens of concussion grenades into Palestinian orchards, west of Jenin, in northern West Bank, resulting in burning at least 120 olive trees.
The head of Thaher al-‘Abed Village Council, said the soldiers are stationed at the military gate of the illegal Annexation Wall, which was built on Palestinian lands owned by the villagers.
He added that the concussion grenades caused a fire that consumed more than 120 olive trees, and that Palestinian firefighters, from Ya’bad nearby town, rushed to the area to extinguish the fire and to prevent it from spreading to surrounding farmlands and homes.
There is no apparent reason for the soldiers to start firing the grenades, especially since there were no protests in the area.

Several illegal Israeli colonists burnt, Friday, large areas of Palestinian agricultural lands, south of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said the colonists invaded farmlands owned by residents of ‘Orif and Asira al-Qibliya towns, south of Nablus.
He added that the colonists then set the invaded lands ablaze, in the al-Lahaf ash-Shamali area, between the two towns.
Ghassan said that the attack by colonial settlers was concurrent with an Israeli army attack, as the army’s bulldozers began razing some farm lands adjacent to the illegal Yitzhar settlement.
Daghlas noted that the razing comes under the pretext of extinguishing the fires, however it is likely a prelude to constructing a settlers-only bypass road that would take over more Palestinian-owned farm lands.
Israeli colonial settlers’ attacks on nearby Palestinian farm lands, have dramatically increased over the past several weeks in many West Bank villages.
On Thursday evening, many colonists hurled stones at Palestinian cars south of Huwwara town, south of Nablus, at the junction that leads to the Qalqilia governorate, in northern West Bank.

The Israeli government and its so-called “Civil Administration Office,” the executive branch of the illegal occupation of the West Bank, has approved plans for the confiscation of 110 Dunams of Palestinian lands in Ezbet at-Tabib village, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia.
The Palestinian TV has reported that the lands will be illegally annexed to build factories that will be part of Alfie Menashe colony, which was constructed on stolen Palestinian lands.
It added that the plans have already been approved by the Israeli government, and will eventually lead to the annexation and isolation of more than 3000 Dunams of private lands that will be considered part of the colony.
The lands are nearly 2 kilometers away from the colony, and by building the factories on them, Israel will be annexing more lands to link them with the colony, which includes roads and infrastructure on 3000 Dunams.
Bayan Tabib, the head of Ezbet at-Tabib Local Council, said what Israel is doing is theft of more Palestinian lands, and another attempt to prevent any geographical contiguity between the locals and their lands, as part of further future plans to annex more lands from the indigenous Palestinians.
It is worth mentioning that the original plan was first approved several years ago, when Israel decided to build the factories, and the government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu is now moving ahead with these plans as part of the attempt to officially annex the entire occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) said today that the Israeli occupation authorities significantly reduced the amount of water alloted to the West Bank districts of Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, and Hebron, during the past few days.
The PWA said the Israeli sudden cuts directly affected the amount of water supplied to the public and led to irregular water pressure in the transmission lines, adding that it was put under a great pressure to manage and distribute the available amount of water in a fair manner.
Head of the PWA, Mazen Ghneim, said that the Israeli occupation is missing no opportunity to exacerbate the daily suffering of the people in the West Bank and by all means.
“We are facing this crisis as we enter the summer season, a time of the year when people are usually in need of more and not less quantities of water.
Demand for water, according to indicators, is expected to increase by about 30 percent,” Ghneim said.
He called upon the international community to pressure Israel to stop its arbitrary policy of by using water as a tool to clamp down on the Palestinian people.
